I have a 2000 Prelude. Did a compression test without unhooking power to ignition. After the test, plugs and wires were put back and no start. So far I have replaced coil, distributor, and 2 ICM. Some days it starts and coughs bad. Some days it won't start at all, and some days it starts within 2 seconds of turning the key. On the good days it runs like new, V-TEC and all. The local Honda shop said it could be a key problem or timing, but neither is the case.

How exactly did you perform the compression test?

I removed the plug wires, then the plugs. Cranked thru the test 3 times to make sure the readings were the same, then replaced the plugs and wires. I didn't unplug the coil or anything else. Tried to start up and no spark.
