Is the 2000 Prelude ECU harness the same as the 1998 harness?

Hey Luders I am doing a transmission swap on my Gen 5 2K Lude, I was wondering if there is difference between the harnesses on a 2000 and a 1998. They are both Gen 5's and they are both OBD2. Someone told me there is a difference. Please help, thanks.

There's no difference. They're exactly the same.

They are the same, cause I don't see how they would be any different.

Are you sure? Since the 97-98 Preludes were equipped with OBD II version 1 and then the 99+ Preludes were equipped with OBD II version 2 I had thought. I had thought (I have a 98 and never seen a 99+ ECU harness) that the version 2 had some additional sensors and wires? But, I'm probally wrong since I'm going by hearsay.

there are a different set of wires in 99+ I believe.
The VAFC install is a bit different.

The VAFC Install booklet says they are different, but they are not. The wiring and connectors are exactly the same. I've installed so many V-AFC's in 97-01 models that I've lost count.

There is no difference in the 5th Gen USDM ECU's or OBD specs from 97-01.

Now I don't know for sure but I also read that 96 -98 were OBD 2.0 and 99-01 were OBD 2.2 I read this on the Skunk2 webpage where they list their conversion harness.

And about 4 weeks ago I got a recall from Honda saying that on some 97-98 modle Preludes (stock ones) were failing emmissions test due to faulty exhaust components i.e. the ECU wasn't performing correctly.

They even offered a free oil change if I would bring the car in and let them check it out.

I meant to check here about that recall but I never did.

What do you mean about the OBD 2.0 and the 2.2? If you're talking about the motor itself, 96-01 have a 2.2 liter motor with OBD II ecu....
