This is the 2nd to last model they made. Dont as me why, they list the last model made in Japan as a 2000, so mine is a 1999. But in the USA it would be the 2000 model. It's fast. really fast. I am in love. I had an accord in college. Just bought a Honda Motorcycle. Honda is amazing. I know my next car will the s2000 after I done with this car. I am having a REALLY hard time finding parts for my car. They are EVERYWHERE in the USA. I only speak and read a little Japanese but I can get around the Japanese websites well enough. I can only find 2 CIA. what a joke. TWO!!!!
one is K and N that runs about 500 bucks. @#$@#$ that. The other is ZERO 1000. They seem to have a good rep in Japan, but there isnt much info about them. I would love some help finding parts in Japan. I will probably only keep the car for 2 years, so I don't want to put too much cash into. I don't want to have some fun with it. My friend is a huge car nut too, he just bought a 2001 B4 for 3,000 also. We want to have some fun modding our cars together on the weekends. I just drove the car off the lot today. I am going to add some iridium plugs soon, change the oil over to top of the line synthetic. Need new tires soon, so I will invest in some nice "racing" tires. The zero 1000 CAI says it only adds about 5 HP. what a bummer. I might add an exhaust but I am reading some actually LOWER your HP. Searching all the japanese website I havent seen anything at all about headers or any other parts. the only thing I can find are these 2 CAI.
Anyway. As a new prelude owner I would love any advice....

Good observation:" I am reading some actually LOWER your HP"
Some aftermarket headers are actually knock offs of OEM headers with a little bling bling added to their appearance.
1: Tires YES: Best handling investment you can make. Also if your shocks are worn, a set of Tokico brand shocks, which is the supplier of shocks to companies like Honda , would be a nice addition.

2: CAI No: Your stock CAI intake is ecu controlled in such a way as to give good low rpm/mid torque and fuel economy by speeding up the air flow thru it by closing off an air input at low /mid rpms.At high rpms, a 2nd air way is opened up for good, non restrictive high rpm breathing. Aftermarket intakes are just good for making great noises that attract law enforcement and whose gains, if any, are the result of some kind of trade off.The OEM Type S intake can give some minor improvement to mid rpm torque while not effecting ecu air input control functions or top end power, but don't expect to much.

3: The 5th gen Prelude has a once refined true 4-2-1 header thats designed to give a good balance of low/mid and high rpm power.Their is nothing really to be gained by replacing it unless you are making other changes to your engine that would significantly change the air flow going to it or if you just want a header with some bling bling to it.
Shown below is the header that has been refined once going from the 4th to the 5th gen lude and for comparison purposes I provided a picture of the header from the low output 4th gen version Prelude.

4: Fancy spark plugs and synthetic oil : No
Your Prelude high peformance H22a4 engine actually comes with a factory installed oil cooler that reduces the demand on the oil and todays ignition's have mega sparks and don't need the help of some fancy spark plug.
