1997 Base Prelude Exhaust - Honda Prelude Forum

Hi everyone, I am looking at buying a new exhaust for my prelude and was wondering if I could get some suggestions, right now I am mostly stock with a aem short ram air intake. I want something that will sound good. I was looking at maybe a Greddy Evo 2?

The N/A library has tons of threads on exhausts. I'm partial to the Thermal CL.

rs*r is what i like. 2.25" ID piping but if you aren't going for huge performance i think it looks great and sounds awesome. awesome in a low almost stock but growls at WOT though.

what do you guys think ........ a rsr or greddy evo 2.. i love the sound of both of them, which is better performance wise, basically which would be the better invesment. Its just hard to decide which exhaust i want to get without some advice. o btw this will be cat back

Personally, I like the GReddy. Have you seen the welding on them! It's excellent quality. As for myself, I REALLY love the SP/SP2, and it's nearly damn impossible to find now. RS*R is a nice choice. It's quiet in the lower RPMs. The EVO2 sounds nice and can be quiet too...I just don't like the size and looks of it. Performance-wise...I'm not really sure about that. Good luck!

That is the nicest dound I've ever heard. It sounds quietly mean. I have a flowmaster on mine, and all of those little rice-rocket street-racing companies don't sound any better than mine: it sounds like a stupid little rice rocket, I hate that sound, but Thats what the guy put on mine, so I'll deal with it.

However, this video with the "testpipe" sounded a lot more normal. more calmly oriented. I guess some people wanna sound like every othe rice rocket out there. There is not a single muffler or exhast system that gives a nice DEEP rumble and loud noise at higher RPM--they all just sound like civics. however, it's probably the engine itself, not just the exhast.

All I'm sayin is that I've heard some very nice skylines and 300zx's before, yeah, those were relatively modified, but still, is a low deep sound all throughout the rpm range until WOT such a task?
