18's on a 5th

I just bought 18's specs are 18x7.5 offset im not yet sure 45 or 50. Im lowered on neuspeed sport springs 1.7 front 1.5 rear. I searched and i have 2 options for tires 215/40 and 225/40. Im leaning more on 215/40r18 yokohama SDrive its $149 each @ tirerack. Anyone here has or had 18's on their 5th. Any info, feedbacks, tips to look out for to avoid rubbing and some info on other good tires as well

You failed at searching. Let me google that for you

The 225/40R18 will be 1.0 inches bigger in diameter than stock. You will rub.
The 215/40R18 will be 0.7 inches bigger in diameter than stock. You will rub.

You want a 35 series tire.

The 225/35R18 will be 0.1 inches bigger in diameter than stock.
The 215/35R18 will be 0.2 inches smaller in diameter than stock.

Either 225 tire will be appx 0.75 inches wider than stock.
Either 215 tire will be appx 0.375 inches wider than stock.

Also, 18 inch rims usually look terrible.

18's don't look bad, it's all how the driver has their suspension setup and wheel choice.

Don't buy off Tire-rack.com. They price rape wallets daily.

I use tires-easy.com. Not sure but I bet they have 225/35/18 Yokohama Sdrives for cheaper

at $149 each u are getting ripped off. There is no way in hell anyone should pay 600 beans for a set of tires.

oh and if you go for 35 r18's get reasy to **** up your rims in less than a week.

18's are too damn big for our cars, join that with 35 low profiles and you are taking a dick in your ass. Im just being realistic here.

i had 18s with nitto tires and 50 offset no rubbing whatsoever and the wheels worked fine for traction and everything at 250 whp and a street clutch, but once i hit 360 whp and a 6 puck clutch forget it, my traction went to hell and i ended up downsizing to 17s just to be able to pull away from a traffic light without insane wheel hop, if you are running close to stock power IMO 18s work and look perfectly fine on the prelude, they actually dont look too big which is good because when people put wheels that look way too big on hondas or acuras it looks pretty ***, i would say 18 is right at the verge of looking good but not pushing it too far

My car had 18's on it when I bought it. It's doable. It had 225/40/18 tires on +48 offset wheels with ~1" drop at the time. It rubbed on full lock turns or when going over big dips, but I left it that way for almost a year.

That said, I eventually bought 17's because the 18's were HEAVY. The rubbing was also getting extremely annoying.

As far as buying tires goes, I recommend Discount Tire. Just look for the best shipped price you can find for whatever tires you want, print it out, and take it to your local discount tire (if you have them in your area). They have always matched every price I've taken to them without fussing about it, and saved me having to deal with the freight shipping.

Type T, are u feeling ok? I never said that 18's wont fit. What I meant is that 18's look like crap on 5th gens. Thus meaning 18's are too damn big for our cars. Now before u start shaking with spasms, all of this is just my opinion.

Many knowledgeable people will agree that 18's look too big for Preludes. Best modded Preludes in the world are on 15's, 16's or 17's. Anything more than that just looks stupid.

There are only a handfull of Ludes that look good on 18's.

yeah and his car looks like complete ****e. To anyone that knows anything about style and class that idiot is a pure ricer.

do you think anyone that has taste cares about some lowlife white trash opinion about how awesome huge rims look on Hondas? How cool it is to have low profile 35 tires? mate, no one gives a crap, that crowd is a minority.

Anyone who has any style on this forum agrees with me. 18's and 19's are pure garbage for our cars.

lol, 35 R18....

here is

Volk GT-C 18x7.5 Rims (+50)
Nitto NeoGen P215/40R18

not lowered didnt rub, im guessing that 1 inch drop is all it takes to rub?

also imo this car looked good with 18s on it i switched to 17 for weight savings and traction but if you think this looks *** or like crap or ricer or doesnt have good taste then i think you are a nut.

this only tells that YOU dont have any style-sense there! 15 and 16 are pure garbage and they just look stupid. prelude isnt any small civic!

it comes to my mind from these your comments that dont you guys have OWN OPINIONS!? you just agree everything what masses/crowds there might think... wannabe jdm ricer.... haha If someone over japan wants to put small rims, I dont have that same obligation

"all of this is just my opinion." hey S lude, youre full of crap, with those comments you cant really say that, honestly... think about that again

ok, enjoy your HUGE wheels

but as far as I know the best looking Preludes are in 15-17 inch range wheels.

Its funny how u failed to mention anything about 17's. All u did was give your opinion on 15-16.

In case u didnt notice the cleanest and best modded Preludes on any forum are in 15-17 inch range. There are very few that look good in 18's or more. Also u must be high to think Prelude is a big car.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I respect yours. But to me anything bigger than 17 on a lude is absurd.
