101 south

this morning as i was driving to san jose on 101 south, i drove into this huge puddle of water, i'm sure it was up to my leg, suddenly my engine died,(i have AEM cold air intake)all the check lights came on. as i was sitting there wondering what i should do, so i decied to start the engine, and hella smoke came out of my exhaust. i was like "oh Sh*t". so i turned the engine off and back on again, and after that it was running fine, that was a big scare, the road was fluded my car was sliding left and right and i was going 45mph, finally got home safe, that was some krazy azz sh*t tho. i hope my baby will be aight......just wanna share my story and hope that everyone from the south bay drive saftly.

i hear you aren't supposed to start your engine again after. It will only do more damage.

ya with all this rain down her's it's pretty scary. Some of the freeways aren't totally flat and water get trapped. Last night I was on 280 S and I gassed it in 5th gear and my car started to hydroplane. I was like wtf....it was at like 11:30ish when it started to pour once again. Don't drive in the left or rightmost lanes. Those always have a crapload of water.

people from the east coast must just laugh and laugh and laugh at you guys. a little rain and everyone is hydroplaning, hydrolocking their engines, whining profusely, etc etc.

just drive slower, make sure your tires are up to snuff, and be extra careful. you'll be just fine.

i was just teasing you, but now that you decided to be a s-a:

1. i was not referring to your original post, but to your lame comment about people on the "west side" not driving slow. if u [sic] pay attention to my post then u [sic] will see that i quoted it rather than quoting your original post.
2. i would be willing to bet i've been driving on freeways a LOT longer than you, and have probably driven faster (safely) than you as well.
3. if you were hydroplaning you were driving too fast for the conditions.

wow look u made a list of come backs. frisco ppl are stupid they have to make a list of their thoughts, well thanks for sharing ur ideas with me, but this post was about my experience on the freeway, and i original intension was to warm ppl in the SOUTH bay not to drive fast because of the rain. until u made a comment about ppl from the east coast laughin at us, for whining.. how is that whinin? ur from the westcoast, i dont give a **** what ppl from the east coast think. u can acutally hydroplain going 5 mph if u pull the Ebrake up. sooo u may have driven longer than me, but u sure dont have enough education. PAYCE !

i just found it funny because i used that exit several times saturday and sunday. (i grew up in cupertino) what we consider "bad" weather is pretty tame compared to what other places see... which is one of the nice things about living here.

but it's all good b/c i am now in awe of your "education".

sorry, couldn't help it.

Thats what the ebrake is for people I actually scared the crap out of myself last year when going to work...pulled the ebrake in rain around a 90 degree turn...and did a full spin.

Be carefull out there. We might not get as much rain as you on the East, but when we do...we get the "first rain" effect w/ all the oils and crap on the road. Makes driving much more dangerous
