OHPOC is happy to be hosting NPM 08 much like last years event in June. The event includes a track day on Friday at Nelson Ledges and Show at Mid Ohio on Saturday with the opportunity to participate in Mid Ohio's Triple Crown Tuner Challenge event.

We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express on thursday night prior too Track Day. There are 17 double queen rooms, and 3 single king rooms reserved for the National Prelude Meet. There is a group discount for $99.99 for one night. In order to get the discount you must call to book your room and mention the National Prelude Meet and must book it by June 1st.. Each bedroom has two beds, excpet for the 3 king bed rooms. If all 20 rooms are booked, additional bookings will be offered at the discounted rate, however the rooms may or may not be grouped with the rest of the NPM rooms. No discount will be given to those who book the day of.

Mid Ohio Camping
For Friday and Saturday night, we will be camping at Mid Ohio’s camp grounds inside the track campus. There are showers available at Mid Ohio and porta-potties are located throughout the camp ground. You must bring your own tent (or buddy up with others). Each camping lot is $25 and can hold 3 tents. Alcohol is permitted at Mid-Ohio and you may bring your own.

Track Day at Nelson Ledges
NPM participants will be able to track at Nelson Ledges on Friday. Nelson Ledges is a 1.5 mile track with 13 curves all with their own character and technical aspects. Nelson Ledges is considered a fast track giving our members the ability to test their ability to hold grip in a controlled manner.
Participants can pick one of three groups to take the track in depending on their experience. However, if at anytime one feels they need to change to a slower or faster group, they may do so at the next turn. The following group list is the recommended classing of experience, however each driver is at their own discretion. Other factors such as capability of vehicle, etc may influence group classification.
Group A - Advanced - has multiple experiences on road courses including Nelson Ledges.
Group B - Intermediate - has had some experience on road courses, not including Nelson Ledges.
Group C - Novice - has had no experience on road courses in the past.
Gates open at 8am and close at 5pm. NPM will be using all of that time so be sure to up and ready on Friday morning.

THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FOR TRACK DAY. If you decide to back out of track day, the money will go to funding trophies and other such NPM related items. You have the option of paying for track day the day of. However, the NPM discount will no longer apply and you will be subject to the normal Fun Day fee of $125.
Mid Ohio Event Info
NPM will be participating in this years Triple Crown Tuner Challenge at Mid Ohio Road Course. For the past 5 years, this event has featured some of the hottest tuner cars of the Midwest and Northeast. These cars compete in six classes: 4 Cylinder, 4 Cylinder Forced Induction, 6 Cylinder, 6 Cylinder Forced Induction, 8 Cylinder and 8 Cylinder Forced Induction.
“The event’s judged competitions will include speed, sound and style competitions throughout the weekend. The individual with the highest score in all three categories will be crowned King of the Streets. Speed will be contested on a real road race track using two specially designed tests. The cornering competition will have entrants perform a timed run on a select series of difficult turns. The stop-box competition will have entrants accelerate and stop within a select area. Other weekend activities will include a burnout contest, bikini and fashion show, neon and specialty lighting contest, and the Boom and Zoom speed and sound competition.Are you looking to showcase your vehicle? Interested in participating in the burnout contest or fashion show? Participants are welcome! Winners in the car show will receive customized trophies while the burnout contest winner will receive $300 and a new set of Kumho tires and the winner of the fashion show will take home $500.
