WOOOO....what a night! buncha ppl felt the awesome power of the lude!

hehe...

ok...so here's my list for last night (friday, the 30th of July)

1. RSX-S w/ intake, exhaust
2. stock integra (he raced me, dammit!!)
3. some college kid in a ford explorer
4. civic coupe with B16 VTEC...intake, full exhaust

those were all wins...no one else wanted to race me....except..

a 2000 prelude base 5 speed....mods? AEM short ram...
we were right next to each other the whole time.

btw...i drive a 2000 prelude base 5 speed, as well... mods are opened airbox, and bored out throttle body.

93 octane from shell....v-power, biatch!

fun night, tho...

He probably means he undid the clips of the air box and just lift it open. Sounds mean and loud as hell, but bad if you are doing that...Something could just fly in there, hopefully you aren't.

I did that on my civic, disconnected the whole tube and thought i was "hard core". Turns out it hurts your gas mileage and damages the motor. I only learned the first ... i was "clued" in before the later happened. Just buy the damn K&N and put it on the tb

you fold the clips over on the bottom piece...lay the filter on top of the clips...then put the top piece on top of the filter....

i actually secured the filter to the top piece so, nothing will 'fly in there'

dunno how it damages the motor...gas mileage isn't even that bad, either....just stay out of vtec as much as you can.

and vs. a cone filter in the same spot, it actually ran quicker in the 1/8th mile. 10.2 instead of 10.3/10.4

nice kills, i raced a Supra..with exhast, it was non-turbo, so not much of a challenge, and a white 5th gen with a kit, ..i just moved to gainesville, so these are all new cars for me...the guy in the 5th gen i met waiting for food at a restaurant, started talking ect, he told me his list of mods ect....after talking he wanted to see how his car would match up, so we went onto the interstate here, went from a 45 mph roll....took it to bout 115.....had at least 3.5 cars on him....the supra was about the same, theres definately alot more clean good looking cars here than where i moved from, my old home was becoming ricer central..later

see...i'm not part of that crowd....i heard the whole two stage vtec goin on and i was pullin it when we were both in a gear and stomping it....not when she or i were changing gears....

good driver's can only go as fast as their car is capable of....in fact...i even spun off the line...more so than the rsx driver did...still i caught up and started pullin.

the guy in gainesville, just PM me and we can talk, and as for the RSXs....you guys are nuts, theyre very fast cars, maybe not so much stock, but ive seen more than a few run very low 14s with traps at 100 plus....and ive never seen a 5th gen come close to those traps,....so to say the RSX S is overratted is ignorant in my opinion.....but hey you all have your own opinion

^^^^I agree, to say its overrated is kinda dumb. They are just as fast stock if not faster, and the minute you start doing anything to them they react like they've been caged and just tear it up.

I love prelude's, its my car, but RSX is the new generation motors. We have the older gen motors sorry to say .

But on the Good side everybody that i've ever talked to say that H22's are very much funner to drive given that the VTEC kicks in so much stonger. At least thats what i've heard.

i was half joking when i said that but i honestly worry about integras (b18c) more than rsx-s's. i also have an h22a1 so i usually get the best of fifth gens. they are all quick but if i were buying a car in 04 (honda/acura), it would be an accord v6. mid 14's stock sounds really nice. =)

uhhhhh... since newer is better and everything... they don't build them like they used to. from the h22a1 to the h22a4 to the ka20.

B18s dont bother me in the slightest, maybe the b18c5...but with mods...when an RSXS with i/h/e/reflash stays somewhat with me on the highway it impresses me...and ive pulled away from JRSC b18s on the highway..again everyone has thier opinions..but hey to each thier own..i like getting asked what i have after a race, people always expect my car to be slower than it is..maybe theres alot of slow preludes out there, i usually get, ive never lost to a prelude ...so maybe theyre racing 4th gen S models with the SOHC??? oh well

so the moral of the story is...

the lude owns? i know that the rsx-s is pretty cool but i'm very biased after driving a 93 VTEC for the past year and if i were building one or the other (for speed) i would go with the lude. the rsx-s is too luxurious to be quick IMO.

i love my prelude, wouldnt trade it for another honda, but..the RSXS is just as capable speedwise as a bolt on 4th gen JDM h22 lude, with all its luxuries...i mean with a few bolt ons you can trap in the 100 with it, thats pretty quick

but everyone here is missing the point.

BOOOOOSSSTTT!

with a H22 + P&P + i/h/cg/pullie/9:1 CR i was able to pull on a "modestly" modded rsx-s.

with boost, "heavly" modded RSX-s dont stand a chance. In fact, i havent worried about anything honda besides a hatch ... in years. I had the joys of walking another 5g (some burnt copper color ... uke. He came up on me with his greddy evo (<-- stock exhaust) like he was gonna walk me. Needless to say by the end of third, i think he was only grabbing for 3rd.

Now what i want to know is ... h22 + boost + 4g. But i dont think i'll have to deal with that unless alexlude steps up his game
