Want to race a lamborghini?? Think again.....

http://library.newsday.com/cgi-bin/d...b%2b%2b%2b2001

When you guys race, don't do what this idiot did and please be careful. This happened on Long Island about 40 minutes away from where i live. It made the front page of this paper which is the most read paper here. Now everyone's talking about street racing and cops are going to crack down big time...

Yes it was a corvette and a lambo. Brand new 2002 diablo and a piece of sh!t 1990 corvette. I don't understand why the diablo even bothered. The worst part about all of this is that they both had their wives in the cars and they still raced. Now they're both widows......

Well it cant be as bad as it is in Hawaii now...

First of all the Fast and the Furious Premiered a while back, at about the same time, a guy in a 93'ish Integra flew off the freeway into a metal post. Early reports were that he was racing a White Jetta and lost control then hit a guard rail launching his car off the freeway which is about 30 feet off the ground. The impact slit the car in half and the only part that was together was the engine bay. None the less he died on the spot. After it was found that he was drinking at a party then left to go home which was when this incident happened. I know it's been said before but dont drink and drive.

Anyhow with the release of the movie and this accident the local cops have been cracking down on the import cars. The Honolulu Police Department even gave cops overtime to catch street racers. Hawaii has a Reconstruction law, which means that if you change any part on your car (ie: exhaust, intake, drop, rims) you have to get a Recon sticker, which in itself is a hassle. Most cars do not pass this certification. So the cops would pull over any modified car that they see. Even if they wernt speeding or driving dangerously. I got hit with 5 tickets this past weekend. Alot of other import owners are getting tagged also. It really sucks that one bad apple can spoil it for everyone. I do feel bad for the victim but he put himself into that position. I guess you could say it's like California's fix it tickets but alot worse... Each ticket is about $45 dollars. Which people usually hit 3-5 tickets each time. It just sucks... Sorry I had to vent a little.

Wow, that is terrible. That kid obviously wasn't thinking. May he rest in peace.

Here's a picture that was forwarded to me of the lambo:

http://www.consumptionjunction.com/c...ew.asp?id=5225

Brand spanking new it was too... Anyway, when this guy was racing a corvette on a 4 lane road(2 lanes for each direction) he veered into the opposite side of traffic to get passed some old bag in a cadillac(going around 70-80mph) and little did he know there was a everyday regular driver in a volvo in oncoming traffic. Smashed into him pretty much head on(both lambo and volvo drivers dead) and the corvette had to steer out of the way onto the side of a road because the lambo came flying out into his lane after the impact with the volvo. Lambo driver was 31 and vette driver is 27. Both had their wives in the car at the time to. The lambo driver's wife was fighting with her husband not to race and he went about his own business and did it anyway.
The vette driver is now charged on 2 counts of manslaughter for the incident and may face some serious jail time. Paying the consequences to the fullest.

Please, when you're racing somebody, don't think you're Brian Spilner from the fast&the furious in the supra racing the ferrari scene.

silly people....

The moment i left the theatre after seeing that stupid movie i knew there would be trouble. My opinion was only enhanced to hear the sounds of dozens of young and old folks alike peeling out of the cineplex in an assortment of vehicles... trucks, suvs, rice mobiles.... what a headache.

Yeah, it showed such immaturity for people to have the sudden urge to drive dangerously after seeing the movie...I am not saying I am a saint of a driver, but at least I know there's a time and a place to enjoy driving, and no movie is going to convince me that time is all the time.
