Walked by a Porsche

I encountered a 996 Carrera on late friday night on the LIE/BQE going from Qns to Bklyn. First we were just messing around bypassing traffic averaging ~75-80mph, as traffic opened up in some stretches I decided to "unleash the hounds". We were pretty much inseparable on turns/cuts but he would pull away on straights. 2 cars going WOT creates quite a boxer rumble

We went our separate ways by the Belt Pwky/BQE split, he was a few cars ahead so never got to wave at him. Oh well, at least this reduced my drive time by almost half. This "outing" made me realize I am getting old and/or skills have deteriorated as I hadn't encountered a "run" in ages.

Lastly, I looked up the specs of this Porsche and made myself feel better, as it has ~310-325hp (depends on year) on a 2,910lbs vehicle, which explains why he was able to pull away on straights. Mine is ~300hp pushing 3,400lbs.

FYI - I drive a 06' Subaru Legacy GT, Stg II.

I do not need to explain anything to you.
My broken wings still strong enough to cross the ocean with.
My broken wings how far should I go drifting in the wind.

I may be getting old, but definitely have no problem getting UP for a prelude, esp. the electron blue ones w/wanna-be JDM posers driving it.

Seriously though, I don't have the guts anymore to pull the crazy stunts. Now I would 2X and 3X check mirrors for clearance before darting between traffic.

It's no different than what he described. It's still blue, and it's still a wannabe JDM poser driving it.
