Walked a mustang cobra!

Now first, i want to say that i'm sure i will get the BS flag pulled on me here, but hear me out.

I was on the highway going about 80, and this mustang older one (95-97) came up behind me. I could see the cobra in his grill. He then passes me and gives me this look. I knew his car was a cobra as it had the emblems and said cobra on the bumper, but i was like **** it, i'll give anything a go. So i come up behind him and get beside him. I'm in 4th at the beginning of VTEC (80). We gun it, and i pulled on him. I got in front of him, and slowly walked away all the way up to 120. It was a win.

I went home and looked them up, and they have like 305 HP. However, I was racing at the best possible speed for my car 80-120 is 4th gear vtec, and what i think is relatively speaking, the fastest speed range on our car. I would also like to say that I have had my ass handed to me by the new cobras which are really fast.

So, Off the line, he woulda killed me. From 60 he probably woulda killed me, but from 80-120 (our race) i took him. Representing the ludes Took down a beast w/ the 4 banger

BTW, i slowed down to get beside him after the race, and he slowed down as well lol... i guess he was ashamed. he wouldnt let me get close.

Are you sure it's a real cobra or is it something like a USDM prelude with a Type S badge in front and back?

Or is that guy toying with you?

The guy wasnt toying. And yes it was a cobra. It was too fast to be a V6 or even a GT of that age. It had all the emblems, the "COBRA" on the bumber, and the exhaust sounded bad ass. This guy thought he was bad ass too

I always thought 2nd gear vtec was the fastest speed range on our cars, from like 40 mph to 60 mph...

^^ Maybe so, but in comparison to other cars, (relatively) i think 4th gear vtec is. 2nd gear is quick, but a lot of cars are quick from 40-60.

Thanks though

also if it had the circular foglights and the cobra bumper along with the nostrils in the hood.. it's hopefully a cobra.. by the way at 80 mph, why would u stay in 4th, if u could have dropped it to 3rd?? (3rd winds out to about 95mph..)

Good Kill though.

Nice! The 94-95 cobras only had 245hp, then in 96 it jumped to 305. So you prob raced a 94-95, regardless it's always great beating a mustang.

there is a difference between beating a 95 cobra with a 5.0 and a 96 cobra with a 4.6DOHC

So what's the difference? I've beaten a 96, is that harder? It was only a car length, but it was from a stop and I was off the bottle. I was shocked.

94-95 cobras are better from a dig (torque) and 96-99,01 are better from a roll (i.e. highwinded rpm motor) neither car is that quick stock considering the 3400lb+ curb weight and the high speed gear ratio..

btw.. if the car had a cobra on the front and COBRA on the bumper with vertical tails it was a 96+.. the 95 cobras had a v6 bumper, hood, own specific wing, and a cobra front facia.. most look like 6s or gts that somehas half done up..

good kill.. 96+ cobras are pretty quick.. my best friend has one with a couple boltons and hangs with his brothers ls1..

Yeah I've never raced one but I've seen the stock 94-96 cobras running 15's at the track so I wouldn't be too intimidated especially on the freeway. now the 03's are a differant story. Good kill

At any point, no matter which gear you are in, if the gear you selected is staying in the beginning of the VTEC, downshift one more.
it makes big improvment. I can provide video proof for this if you guys want.

reppin 03's but 94-95 are definitely a low 14, maybe at best midish 13, all depends on the driver, if hes awful he will pull out a 15, but knows what hes doing i would expect more of a low 14 result. either way good defeat
