VIDEOS: JRSC lude vs. RX7 TT

Met up with my friends friend Jake who owns a 93 R1 RX7 TT. Very nice car. He's got all the basic stuff done to it, Intake, downpipe, exhaust, hi flow cat, 6spoke clutch, rims, boost controller. The day before we raced he put his turbos into non sequential mode so he would gain 30+hp in the middle.

Note when watching these videos. 2 of them are at 6psi on his rx7 because he accidentally hit his boost controller into low boost. We did'nt know why i was pulling so bad. The third race he puts it on hi boost and its at 13 psi total, (10 is stock for those who don't know)

First run we go from a light, my clutch was slipping so bad. Listen in the video, it takes about 2 seconds for my 2nd gear to kick in. you can hear it lol.
http://home.attbi.com/~jmrecker/jrsclcrx71.mpg

We then did a 40mph - 120mph punch, He's still on low boost for this video
http://home.attbi.com/~jmrecker/jrsclcrx7roll1.mpg

We pulled into the McD's parking lot and we found out that his boost controller was on low. Stuck it on high, and went to do another rolling run since my clutch is gone. We went from 40 so that his turbos were both fully spooled. No turbo lag excuses this way Not that he needed it.

That last race we deemed a tie. I pulled when i was on an inside curve and he pulled at the end when i was taking the outside curve. It ended up netting the same distance and he pulled his headlight right back up to mine. Our noses were still neck and neck. I think he probably woulda pulled on me in 5th but i braked b/c of the off ramp comming up. Just playin it safe (as possible )

That was fun, we finally got a car to race us that was worthy!
Most people we try to race now give up as soon as they hear the supercharger and/or we start to pull.
And did you notice those madd camera skillz i have?

nice vids, i would think an rx7 tt would be quite faster even if you're supercharged. What does he run in the 1/4 mile ?

haha thanks guys. My car looks stock but i'll get picks when its all clean and back together.

The rx7 guy said he ran a best of a 13.5 @ 111 before he converted his turbos to non sequential which adds like 40hp in the midrange he said. I think its off, cuz i know i won't trap that high. He might not of remembered correctly, but the 13.5 seems about right with a good launch for him. What holds my car back is the launch not my top end power. FWD is a pain but it moves when it gets going.

and no these are 2 day time and one dusk video. Adjust the brightness up if you have too. its a little slider control on windows media player
