Turbo Lude vs New Mustang

Going down to CMI this weekend (Reno to Sacramento) were up in the hills cruising with about 5-6 imports in a row. I was in the very back with my friend in his '93 Talon TSi in front of me. The other imports we were with were pretty slow and just old CRX's and a hatch.

So a brand new bring ass Mustang comes flying up beside me, he moves up next to my friend in the Talon. Obviously a race was about to start. The Mustang guy moves left in front of the Talon to avoid a slower car then jumps on it and goes in the right lane around the CRX's, my friend in the Talon punches it and follows him around, I'm only running 6.6psi and don't have time to up it at all so I decide I will just tag along. We were crusing at 75MPH and I just leave it in 4th gear (don't have 5th), punch it and hit around 7psi in about a second and start gaining on the Talon quick, both the Talon and the Mustang are about equal in the right lane, I notice I'm gaining quick so I move over into the left lane and pass the Talon at about 100MPH and then quickly pass the Mustang at about 110 and he was only about 20 feet in front of the Talon. I probably went by at about 15MPH's faster than they were goin. I pulled up to around 125MPH (which was 7600 RPM's in 4th gear) and I was probably 5-6 cars in front of the Stang.

This was also going up a pretty steep incline.

It was a V8 and manual and I'm pretty sure it was brand new.
Sorry for the long ass post.

I wish that was the case.. I actually don't have use of my 5th gear. Synchro went bad (again) but this time my car is turbo so no more warranty.

i seriusly doubt the turbo broke your 5th gear synchro therefore by law they ahve to fix it under warranty. Especially if its withing 1 year 12000 miles of the last time they repaired it. Tell them "if the car didn't have a turbo could the synchro break" if they say yes then they're going to have a hell of a time proving hte turbo did it.

FYI: This guy ina sueprcharged maxima tore up his tranny BECAUSE of the power. Actually broke it, not just a synchro hehe, took it to the dealership and told them to treat it as if there was no SC. they replaced it all

Now if there was all sort of other damage in there from driver abuse like betn shift forks and what now, then its pretty much your fault but you should know when YOU break it vs when the car breaks. good luck

I actually tried pretty much what you're saying. With the whole "It broke without it before, It would have broke anyway." But they didn't buy it.

I'm swapping in a base engine/tranny this summer and won't have the worry about it. For at least 2 months until something goes wrong with that one.
