SVT Cobra+Girls=YUM

I was comin home from work couple days ago and i saw a mustang up several cars with 3 girls in it. I caught up to them and we were messin around a little bit. We came to a light and when it went green we both started slow and then she punched it. I went right behind her and passed her by mid second. She shut down as soon as i passed her. Granted it was a girl driving plus 2 passengers, but it was fun none the less. BTW this was the generation just before the 99+ up gen which I know is slower than the newest cobra.

peace

The new Cobras are 12 second beasts. Still, good kill on the older one. Did you use nitrous?

Umm, Slow and Corbra dont go together. 96-99 were all about 13.7-14.0@100-103. Show me some proof.

He's making a valid point though. Ford was having quality control issues with the heads on the Cobras. The first couple years made 305hp on paper, but they dynoed at 275ish because the heads had problems. Ford fixed this and the Cobra then made 305hp like it was actually supposed to until they released the 385hp supercharged Cobra in '03.

Actually, it was 320 on paper. The 96-98 made 305 hp, and were all 13.7-14.0 second cars. The 99 was bumped to 320, but like you said, was making about 20-30 hp less than that. They did return strong in 01, making prolly more than the 320 they claimed at the crank, because they were running 4.8 to 60 and 13.3 in the quarter.

Agreed, just look at the times on the Cobras. There is a lot of variance through the years when they were supposed to be making the same power.
