So my buddy picked up his WRX a while back and we always wanted to compare our cars. His is 5speed stock, mine is base model with the following mods..... CAI, Megan Header, Custom Exhaust, Fidanza flywheel, UR Lighten Crank Pulley, HiFlow CAt, Tuned VAFC, Dynoe around 183 in dynopack dyno, so I am guessing around 175 in dynojets....
so anyways, 5 runs..... always in second from a roll.....at around 40kmph
1. I get the head jump, pull on him till the end of 2nd, and he slowly pulls on me by the end of third
2. same thing as first time
3. this time I changed my shifting at around 7850RPMs reading on my VAFC, and by the End of third gear, I have about 1 car on him, and he is not pulling or catching up anymore
4. Same thing as third
5. Same thing except he got the jump start, had 1/2 car on me during second gear, but by the end I have about 1/2 car on him
I have videos.... my friend in his STI followed us and shot it each time...
so even tho, he's stock... I thought he had an advantage with his 240 hp and awd.....
maybe the awd makes him have more drivetrain losses since you can't launch when you're going from a rolling start.
he said the they dyno at around 175 WHP. Yah I didn't want to go from dig because we had the same tires but his is pretty brand new RE92 and mine barely have tread left on them.
but I was happy to of kept up even beat the WRX, and I don't have that much mods, just a list of small mods
i jus currently got my hands on a 02 wrx, sold my 2000 lude..
i dunno, stock for stock, wrx is alot faster..
bet hey if u spend a few grand on a wrx, they will spank you
so either way, stock for stock on any car is garbage..
Yeah, I had a wrx before. They are not what everybody thinks they are. Especially bone stock. I bet you beat the wrx on the launch as well.
whoever let a prelude beat a wrx from a dig must not know how to drive the wrx...
driving from a roll, with the ludes mods, it sounds right to me...AWD loses a bit of power to the drivetrain...heck my sti puts down ~240awhp....thats down 60 hp...
