We went from about a 15 roll, after coming off a stoplight, he was completely stock, but it was in nice condition. There was him and another guy in his car, and me and a friend in my car. I pulled about 2 carlengths on this guy up to about 80. It was sad. It might be a V8, but DAMN those things are slow. After the race, he asked me if I had a Turbo. When I told him all I had was exhaust, he got mad to say the least! ::
EDIT: This race ocurred about 2 hrs. ago

Well, people tend to want to race me for some reason. I'm usually not the one to provoke it. The places I usually encounter someone who wants to race is: Lindbergh Blvd, Hwy 55, Richardson Rd., I-270 (great place to race, w/ the high dividing wall, cops can't see ya from the other side. Same for hwy 55).
I don't care if anyone calls bs on me w0rdie.
Thanks for the compliments ya'll.

Yeah, there's kind of a higher level of believability when a low 16 second 4 cylinder beats a V8 that runs a 16 flat. Instead of a say, a 16 second 4 cylinder beating a V8 that runs a 14 flat...

HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA Just kidding man. I totally belive you and yeah they are nice cars, but damn slow for a V8. Still nice kill man.

Actually, I've read that they run a 15.2, but that doesn't matter, because we weren't at a drag strip, and I guess this guy couldn't drive real well, cuz I beat him bad!!
That's real funny Jeremy!! They're pretty good cars to put a nice sound system into, but their just not performers. Oh well, I BEAT A V8!!

All they need is Daton's and a Sound system and you got yourself a nice WHOOPTIE.

I used to own a 97 Mercury Cougar, which is Mercury's version of the Thunderbird, had the same 4.6 V-8, If the 4.6 cant move a Mustang GT, It sure as hell cant move a T-bird/Cougar with 50 less horsepower! They really werent meant for drag racing, they are great for the highway though and have a good amont of torque. But c'mon, the 4.6 V-8 only made 205 hp in that near 4,000 lbs car, the engine is a dog, being in a full size luxury cruiser doesnt help it any I broght my Cougar to the drag strip and it ran a 16.4 @ 84 mph and was consistant on every run... though it had over 110,000 miles.

That could be why I beat him so bad. Maybe on the highway it would've been different?!?! Maybe? I dunno, I've never ran one on the highway before. This is the 2nd one I've beaten.

I am not even sure he could take you on the highway... but then again, the 4.6 is decent in the top end being an over head cam engine and the ability to rev, but they are syrup on the low end... as you now know I think the only reason they were even as fast as 15s - 16s was because of the near 300 ft lbs of torque, but the engine was rev happy. On the other hand, bolt on a supercharger and you will at least have a mid 14 second car For racing purposes, the old 302 5.0 was a much better powerplant, there a lot of 5.0s out there that can eat my LS1 for lunch, breakfast, and dinner. The 87 Mustang GT 5-speed could run a mid 14 bone stock... not too many people know about that

ls1, wasn't there a factory SC'd Thunderbird back in the day? Didn't they run like 15.2's? That's pretty impressive for such a fast car. Isn't the LX the normal V8? I dunno, I don't think this was a SC'd version, cuz, well, I'm gettin tired of braggin, but I murdered him!!

There was an SC'd 3.8 V-6 Thunderbird and Cougar back in the day, and up until the 1995 model year, but there was never an SC'd V-8, though the SC V-6 cars were much faster ( low 15s in the 1/4th) they had 230 hp and something like 290 ft lbs of torque. You will know an SC V-6 from any other T-bird, the SC versions had body kits and SC badging from panel to panel...as well as exposed dual exhaust and unique rim designs. They were impressive cars, but after 95, your only two choices were the n/a 3.8 V-6 (which has got to be one of the slowest cars on the road, literally) and the V-8. All T-birds and Cougars, regardless of having V-6 or V-8, were XR7s (for the Cougar) and LXs (for the T-bird) which made absolutely no sence to me, but Ive given up trying to find reason in what Ford does, lol :-)
