sooo embarrased

Just got home from picking up my little sis, however on the way there I see this brand new dodge neon following me close enough so that I would notice him, the car was pretty quick I gunned alittle to pass a car up ahead.

We pull up to the light and I look over, hes got the same idea.
I launch at 4000 rpm (I have winter tires on) thinking it would be enough to get me going without spinning.

Clutch grabbed perfect and im off, as I look to my left...

Hes already got 2 cars on me off the launch and pulling hard and spinning tires, im like wtf...

ok, vtec hits and the lude is roaring, im expecting some pull... VERY slowly I get maybe .5 car lengths back at the end of 3rd gear (with me shifting perfectly before rev limiter)

By that time hes still 2 car lengths ahead but no more pull out of him. We both shut her down

I catch up to him 30s later, give him the thumbs up and he just smiles and nods knowing he ripped me a new asshole.

My car is manual, winter tires, with only aem cai.

His car had no signs of exaust, no roar from his engine, had a 2.0L sx badge on the back.

How could this possibly be? My only guess is he was spraying...

Must do the walk of shame on this one

How much does your sister weigh? HAHAHHA....J/K.

Oh god I'm going to hell for that. My only guess is that he was spraying as well. I know I suprised a lot of cars when I was spraying in my Prelude. Kept up to an LS1 Camaro SS on the Highway (he only put half a car on me) and the look on the driver's face was priceless.

she wasn't in the car at the time

Unless it was an actual srt-4 without the hood air dam, he had to be spraying, especially from pulling 2 car lengths right off the launch.

their tires go screech briefly no matter what speed
you see them hold onto the wheel for dear life with there head back in the seat
and a flame shoots out the exhaust
and if they are really spraying hardcore, you might get a floorpan shot at you

man if I were to own a SRT-4 I would do just that...get rid of the hood put a stock neon hood on it, take off the wing or put on a lower profile one from a regular neon and put the badges on and suprise everyone

if its direct port the flames will match the colour of your vehicle too, thats always a big give away

its either spray or somesort of aftermarket mods. Those neons run some mean 1/4mi times when you do them up heavily. I would imagine you'd hear the spray. Either the fact that the tires suddenly start spinning at ackward points (ie: downlow) in some cases you can hear it in the exhaust.

According to the commercial, it was probably his brothers car and he had to get it back before his brother got home. You were the guy in the WRX, right?
