The SRT-4 is an underrated car, to say the least, in my opinion.
I have a friend who made some comments he would like me to post up so people may discuss
"The SRT-4 has almost no turbo lag. With the properly sized stock turbo you're making peak torque starting at 2,200 rpms, heading into the upper 4,000's before it evens out or drops of towards at the end of the usable rpm range.
The Vehicle is set to offer only limited boost in 1'st gear to try and control tire spin and promote traction.
If the car feels laggy, this guy must have been driving an upgraded larger turbo SRT which may have provided him with a little bit of boost lag as it spooled. although you say it was a Stock SRT, so Explain why when I am in 2'nd gear even going as low as 2,000 rpm's I can punch it and my tires loose traction if the throttle isn't responsive at low RPM's.
I love my car, I can dig a prelude too, but I don't think a stock Vs. Stock match will yield prelude on top, although theres always bad drivers so anything is possible.
I ran a low 14.2xx my Second run when I was bone stock. (this was my first time at a track, and this was my first 5 speed car, 2 weeks after i bought it) , and a girl friend of mine, ran a 13.8xx bone stock.
Theres not much more I can say, because like I said, drivers really make the difference.. the highest performance cars in the world could be driven to embarassment by low performance drivers."
Ok, thats what he wrote. I have nothing to ad, he said it all really, when he mentioned low performance drivers. They really do make the difference in any race, close or not.
