i assumed it was, because i raced two of them.. one modded, and one unmodded.. The first one was stock to the bone.. we went from a 65mph roll and he couldnt pull on me.. Actually torwards 120 i was slowly edging away.. he had the look on his face.. his friend in another silver srt4 pulls up.. and we go from a roll and a stop.. dominated me everytime.. he said his was modded.. wouldnt say what he had.. but they gave me respect for keeping up with a stock srt 4 from a roll.. never raced one from a stop.. assuming it would get the jump on me

a friend of mine got his on a dyno and put down 240 whp and 250 wtq with an intake and BOV. Those things put down mad power.

Are you sure the first car you raced wasn't a debadged SXT Neon? They look 'almost' exactly like the SRT4, with small exceptions like the front bumper is just slightly different, not something the common person would notice. They are a 2.0 DOHC engine, non-turbo.

I have ridden in an SRT4 before, and tried to run one once. I just have a hard time believing 170-180hp preludes are keeping up with mid 200 hp turbo neons. Neon or not, those things are quick and stock preludes just do not keep up.

I don't want to start the SRT4 vs. prelude argument again, but it's nice to see a thread with a prelude admitting to losing to an SRT4

yes i saw the intercooler when we parked and looked under his hood.. The other guy wouldnt say any other mods he had that were not visible.. i can tell what kind of car it is just by the headlights.. An SXT would NOT keep up with me if it tried...

Not to mention i have driven an orange 2005 neon srt 4 and my car felt quicker.. i was utterly disappointed.. It had lag like a mother, and I had driven Civic's (modded of course) quicker than it.. It was hard to believe that they make 210whp or so stock on SRT4.com

I wonder if the guy realizes that when Neon's were introduced, the target market was females, age 16-30.

^^^His rims will fit and look good after you throw on a 20mm spacer. FWD wheels just doesn't look good on RWD cars. I saw an S14 in Chicago last year lowered with the same rims I had on my Prelude before which was 17x7 with a +42 offset and man did it look retarded.

hey not to sound like a dick or anything and not to say your lying because this guy surely could have just been a horrible driver but a stock srt-4 will most definately pull you by a few cars from like 40-120.

And the fact you said it felt slower then your prelude kind of made me chuckle because my friends srt-4 sure as hell felt alot faster then mine and in my prelude i ran a 14.4@98 so it wasnt that slow. I didnt know that cars that weigh less then preludes and have 230 whp over like 260 wtq felt slow?

just stating my opinion, sorry if i came off rude but its really tough to believe...
