si vs gsx - Honda Prelude Forum

Hey all I have a '93 Prelude si with a custom intake, apexi ws, and a DC sport header.

Now that you have the background, I raced a gsx from 10 mph yesterday and and won both times by a half a car lenght.

His car didn't seem to be preformance modded to much, but I dont believe that I should be winning. My ride is in excellent condition, I really just need a valve spring adjustment, and that makes me all the more confused.

Well whats you alls take on this? Was he just a poor driver, or should I be winning races like that?

He must a very bad driver and must be an automatic. Are you manual? GSX's will kill the preludes, are you sure it wasn't a GT?

A GSX would have an advantage at a stop cause of the AWD but from a roll they are heavy and a lude can take them. It doesnt surprise me that you beat him. Good kill!

No, it was a gsx manual. After racing we chilled and looked at each others cars for a bit. I have a manual as well and people say I post fast time for an si with the mods I have but still. Im posting a 15.2 1/4. I think it all boils down to him being a poor driver.

CTPRELUDE thanks for the input im still a newb to the manual driving/racing having only had my lude for about 4 months, but have been an avid car/prelude lover for 5 or so years.

oh wow, 15.2 outta the si, nicely done man. you are beating charlie in his 15.4 or sumthin in his 4th gen vtec. HAHAHAHA

Yea the 15.2 was when she was in her prime. Now a few months later/half a year or so she is probably at like a 15.5 I would guess. Don't really know...I need to take her to the track.
