Wazup ya'll?! Tomorrow night, I have a date. Well, not really a date, but I'm goin up to Lindbergh, and I'm supposed to meet up w/ one of my friends that has a '98 SH 5-spd w/ JRSC@9psi, headers, CAI, V-AFC,Crower Cams, and a 75-shot NX wet kit. He's tellin me that he's supposed to be racing some dude w/ a '89 LX 5.0 w/ hooker headers, 3.73's, a 383stroker, flowmaster exhaust, MSD full ignition setup and some other mods, I don't remember what exactly. I'm gonna be there to see it though, and I can't wait!! What do you guys think? Who's gonna win? I believe it's gonna be for money, and that'll make it even better, the only thing is that I have to wait until 1:00 in the morning, cuz that's when they're goin up to one of the spots nearby. Give me your opinions everyone.

He's told me before that on the bottle, he dyno'd at 341whp, and off of it, he dyno'd at 273 whp. He and I put on the SC and the nitrous, but he had his engine work done at SVH Motorsports in Chesterfield,MO. He has Crower Stage II Cams, ported/polished head, sleeved block, titanium valvesprings (not sure which brand), JE forged pistons. I'm not sure of the compression ratio on it, but it is his daily driver, which is even more insane. He has a few more mod.'s, but I can't remember them all off the top of my head. I've never seen any of his dyno sheets, but I wouldn't doubt it, cuz this car, like you said, is INSANE!! I'm not too sure about his times, to be honest, I don't even know if he's ever ran it, I'm sure he has, but I haven't heard any times from him as of yet. Tomorrow I'll ask. Peace.

dude, he will eat that 5.0.....i've beaten 5.0's with blowers and it sounds like ur friend is even faster. he should easily be in the 12's... the 5.0 with a blower said that he was running 12's too. so i guess that makes my car capable of 12's, if i had a clutch and some slicks. but, i'd put my money on the lude.

One more thing to consider is that they will be racing from a stop, NOT a roll! I think it's going to be a little closer than you think zex. Those 383 strokers are pretty bad mofo's. He doesn't have a blower on his stang. I dunno, it's gonna be a doozy!!
MUSTANG OWNERS: Feel free to express your opinions, but please. NO FLAMES!!

well, Passat, we must've been typing at the same time, cuz when I looked a minute ago, your reply wasn't there. They will be goin from a stop. I'm gonna be the go-man!! WOOHOO!! It's gonna be close! Why do you think the Mustang will have him from a dig out?

i think it will be even on take off. he has rear wheel drive, but if your friend is a good driver, he will have the traction and launch of front wheel drive.
i say the lude wins.

I say that the lude wins, if his engine doesn't explode. good lord, JRSC at 9psi and a 75 shot? but it seems as though hes put the money into the buildup so rock on...especially if he knows how to launch it well...it would still be cool if he smoked his tires to 90mph and still ate that mustang. my moneys on the prelude
I'm pretty sure the Mustang will win if he can launch without turning his tires into smoldering piles of rubber. First of all, the 5.0 LX notchback is the lightest of the Foxbody's. The Windsor 383 stroker motor puts out 350+ horsepower to the wheels alone. He most likely reworked the heads, swapped in different cams, and raised the compression a bit as well. Combine that with some bolt ons and the new gears and he should run deep into the 11's at the strip.
As for your buddy with the Prelude....where has he been hiding? I've never heard of a supercharged, Crower built motor running nitrous before That would make him one of the fastest 5th gens on the planet. Is he on www.hondaprelude.com ? He must have some sort of standalone EMU, because I know a VAFC isn't going to cut it with that amount of forced induction....I dunno, I just have to see this car to believe it.

i may have to go with the mustang on this, especially if you're doin this from a stop. jrsc ludes at 6psi already have a traction problem, let alone one at 9psi and that much nitrous. off the line, i think the mustang may win. race from a roll and it'll be a better race and in the end i think the prelude will come out ahead if you go long enough.

I can see how you wouldn't believe me, but I assure you, it's for real.
TranceAzn, I plan on recording it on my camcorder, but I don't know how to put vid.'s on the net!? Can you give me some pointers, or anyone?
I'll keep you guys posted!

ok the problem with this is, a 383 stroker is a bored and stroked 350 small block CHEVY not a 351 Ford, so either he is confused or did a chevy swap into a ford
for some reason if this is true and he hooks up you are toast, but they get NO traction...
You're right uEnvymystyle, it's not a 383, it's a 338, does that sound right? I've never seen this car, and I'm not too familiar w/ mustang motors, but I do know that I've heard this is a bad ass car. Sorry for the mistake.

good luck
The 383 is a stroked 351 Ford Windsor motor (3.75 crank w/6.215 rods). There are several stroker kits out for the 351. You could also go with a 377, 393, 408, or a 427. Several Mustang owners are using a 351w with this particular stroke, just check out www.stangnet.com
