RSX vs. PRELUDE

why cant we beat them stock vs stock?? we have more power and torque to the wheel, i mean 200lb cant make that much of a difference, can it??

and why do they react better to after market parts?? their intakes give them at least 10 whp.

i'm seriously considering trading in my lude for one, unless i have a good reason not to.

It is still a drivers race.

Reasons not to buy:

fIRST OF ALL HOW LONG WAS THE RACE...THEN THAT TYPE WAS THE RSX AND WHAT TYPE WAS THE PRELUDE.

I THINK HONDA SPECIFICALLY MADE THE RSX TO TO BEAT THE PAST CARS...SO I THINK THE RSX CAN BEAT APRELUDE..AND YES 200 LBS. MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

well i'm a better driver then he was. i know this cause he's one of my best friends.

the race was a bit more then a 1/4 mile.

i've seen RSX's with a some cosmetics done to it, and it looks hella meaner then the prelude, and it handles as well as the prelude, i've been in one so i'd know.

It's all a matter of personal opinion. Personally, I did not like the intial impressions the RSX Type S made on me.

Ride height much too high, the car looks chubby and short, and the overall feel is much to crammed and stiff. However, they do have nice interiors.

It's all a matter of personal opinion, get what you like and be happy. However, I must say that the people at the RSX forums are not the brightest people in the world.

so true,

it's a drivers race between rsx s and lude. I haven't lost to one, and you wanna talk about cornering, I have an SH, rsx-s can kiss my ass around the corners. ::

I think the RSX is kind of overhyped. It comes down to the driver we took my friends to the track and he could only hit 16.3 (IF YOU GET AN RSX MAKE SURE YOU WAIT TILL AFTER THE BREAK IN PERIOD).

He let me drive it very hard, on the street and on the track for one run.

Over all the interior is very nice. The exterior looks a little too much like the civic but with the lip kit, black housing headlights, it can look mean as hell. But the 5th gen looks mean as hell with the OEM lip kit anyways...

Something doesnt feel right when you are driving it. It feels too tall, your legs feel a little cramped and the clutch was weird to me (I've never really driven a new car though). As far as the shifter, I hated it, kind of too small and weird for me. Handling didnt feel to great compared to my 4th gen SI (I am lowered, with new struts so not a fair comparison). Engine bay is cramped as hell. Hatch is nice for the room, but I guess that is one of the reasons why it doesnt handle as well. I really wish I could drive a 5th gen to compare.

As far as the intake, either the Injen intake is really good, or the stock one is very bad...

In the end I think the RSX is just a really quick new civic with a spiced up interior. A prelude is a prelude.

WE'll gonna have hard time beating rsx because the 200hp ivtec in that engine is better than our 200hp vtec engine. What the new engine does is it constantly changes valve timing... just like the new bmw 3 series VV engine.(but ****tier). So they don't really have to wait for the vtec to kick in at specific rpm, say on the corner or even straight course. They are little more responsive than our engine. It all depends on how heavy the driver is too. Have you compared the rsx against the prelude. I didnt' buy RSX because they're too high, like a freaken mini van/wagon, and it's so narrow looking and stupid looking. The seating arrangement is all wrong in that car. They had to put the recaro seats in that car because otherwise, you'll go through the door every time you make a hard turn. Anyway, take your seats, spare tire, and put some carbon fiber panels to reduce some weight and turbocharge it. So there will be none of this questioning about how bad the driving was. You could probably start off o 0rpm and still whip it good. Then go crush some detroit V8's/

well lets compare:

RSX-S
2.0L, 6 speed
2767 lbs
200 HP @ 7400
142 TQ @ 6000

Prelude VTEC 5 speed
2.2L, 5 speed
3042 lbs
200 HP @ 7000 RPM
156 TQ @ 5250 RPM

Its just like racing an ITR, instead of an LSD it has a 6 speed.
EDIT: I guess it's also about where the power is in the powerband, The RSX's are a little higher than the Ludes. But of course most Lude drivers dont shift until 8000 RPMs. I wonder where the RSX'ers shift at.

Is that from an advertisement, or was it dyno-proven?

HP claims from Ads tend to be a *little* on the high side.

look at the aftermarket on them right now, its probably pretty small. Personally I dont like the way they look, they are to "roundish" I like a sleek car with a very low profile.

I can vouch for the 10hp from a CAI being dyno proven, I saw the dyno on some website, but couldn't tell you where anymore...

edit: and when I test drove a RSX, I shifted at 8k RPM only because thats where the redline was and I didn't want the salesperson to say some dumb isht to me...

Well guys, could vouch for you guys and say it is a drivers race when racing a type s versus a lude. I just went against my friend this weekend and I beat him the first time, and he beat me the second time. Third time i had the lead on him but then I misshifted third so it was sorta tied. Basically its a drivers race. Get good launch and the win is yours. O by the way, he had a injen intake.

Peace

As it's been said repeatedly already, it's a driver's race...moving to the appropriate forum...
