raced beamer wit alot of work done to it

i'm stuck at a light behind a bmw 318 but noticed that it had rims, sum type of exhaust and the badge was replaced with a M3 bad with sumthing else after it but i couldn't make it out...

we both turn onto another street and he hits itwhen i pull next to him going at about 5-10 mph..he was a half a car ahead when we hit it and i pulled to about half a car ahead when i got into 3rd..but the he pulled bak to a half a car lead at the end of third..

i ended it cuz i had to turn off...

i guess he had an M3 motor in it since he put the badge on..

Well unless you got some crazy mods it wasnt an M3 motor.. Nice kill either way though.

he's turbocharged, I think that counts as 'crazy mods' and it probably was a M3 engine swap since the 3 series bmw's run mid-high 15's

thanks for backin me up ...

yea i am turbocharged along with a good amount of other mods...

i don't think the bmw 318's ran 15's tho... they have the same size engine as a GSR but probably alot heavier...

i'm guessing the guy had the older generation M3 motor cuz i was able to pass him in second...i'm sure if it was the new M3 i would have been toasted from the get go..

yo foo..read my post more careful ...

i said i doubt they run 15's...

Yo LC:

its not the 330 cuz it was the older beamers and i know it was a 318 cuz it was a hatch..i guess he could have put a 330 motor in it but since he put a M3 badge on the back of it i guess hes running that motor..

i only dynoed at 230whp at 8.5 lbs of boost pretty much untuned...i would use to be able to boost more but i kinda messed up my wastegate and i haven't really found that much time to but my new one on...plus i'm gonna run open loop and redyno it soon..but as of now i'm starting to run into problems

I dunno about "crazy mods" needed to knock on an M3s door. I've read reports that a JDM Type-S fifth gen WILL hang with an M3 in the straights and take it turn for turn on a track. heck I know a guy that has a "mostly" Type-S engine in his fifth gen(pistons, vavletrain, cams) and he stayed within a car of a 98 all the way up to 145mph!

isn't the 98's the slower ones? the prev model M3's aren't all that.. but those in a lighter body beamer can be killer...

kinda like putting a type-r motor or a h22 in a hatch..

those 318 hatches do NOT run 17's...probably high 15's...

he must have had something under there...

I just raced a e36 M3 the other night. He had a Dinan intake with a Binford? extension on it, exhaust, ecu, and some other things and we were dead even with a slight edge to me. I could have pulled if we went past the beginning of 4th though. We went from about 50mph-95mph. We then stopped and talked, he actually wasnt too big headed about his car, and he was pretty young also.

Those things are POS's, But believe it or not they made an M package for them. It didn't come with the M engine though, just like some supension stuff and exterior things (like badges). a friend of mine had one, I used to smoke him in my old Toyota Celica GT-S.
