Every car is different guys. You won't be trapping as high with slicks as you do with street tires. Compare running 24psi in a street tire to running 8-12 psi in a slick. I know I can definatly hit 1.8's, it's just gonna take more practice :-)
I know I can rock mid 1.7's =)

Jay, launching on a racing slick is different from launching on an Auto-X/Road Race Tire. There is no slipping involved, you dump the clutch and nail the throttle. Basically you try to launch the car as hard as you can. It's not as easy as it sounds. Especially when you preload with the e-brake. Getting the timing down takes practice. Launch RPM, tire pressure, how quickly you engage the clutch all play a major role when launching on slicks.

P.S. I am launching at "true" 8k as indicated by my Apexi Rev/Speed Meter.
