Maybe the Civic Si guy didn't understand how to use VTECH correctly? This is in response to the first post.

The Si weighs less than the 5th gen prelude and dynos more hp to the wheels (170ish vs. 160ish) and has an LSD. If the prelude was held up to SAE standards, I doubt its HP rating would have stayed at 200 hp.

The only car I've raced in the Si was an RSX type S (my cousin's), the 02 model. I beat him by a car and a half. Neither car would have beaten my old supercharged prelude though.
Damn.. No wonder I beat RSX type S's now from a stop and a roll.. I have EVERYTHING you just mentioned in my prelude (all jdm oem) so I should be able to handle a stock SI.. And my motor for some odd reason is said to be rated at 206.. But I believe it's 200 hp.. I am looking forward to racing a stock SI because I have seen one going down the road and it didnt look as fast as many have said.. And my girlfriend's RAV 4 damn near kept up with one!!

And NOW since the tranny is obviously one of the biggest faults on the prelude besides its weight... And I hear the H2B kit is a Kseries killer (that's not me talking, nor my opinion.. it's just the magazine's opinion.), I am thinking about finding a b-series tranny for my lude, buying the kit (adapter plates and such), and getting LSD installed... We need SHORTER gears!! The tranny I have helped since it has shorter gears.. And LSD..

I would be happy with a weight closer to the RSX-S. The LSD must be nice, but look I nailed down a 2.072 60' with an open differential and 188whp(my back is gutted too). So the driver has a lot to do with it.
Nice times by the way precision..

The one time i've ever raced an 06 si was in a 98 type sh and IMO theres a very thin line but I would have to say if both drivers were equally skilled, the civic is a hair faster..

Dude, like I was totally racing this Dodge Viper against my Honda Insight, and I totally won!

Did I mention he didnt know he was racing! Even then, I barely won.

And the Civic Si will own a lude with equal parts modded.
