Well I was at a friends house the other day and another friend pulls up in his brand new Si. I jokingly asked him if he wanted to race me in my del sol (106hp) and he said no, but I'll race your prelude. I don't ever race my prelude because, well, its not very fast, but I said yes anyway. First race rolling in 1st I beat him by about 4 cars when I let off at about 110mph. Second race we raced from 2nd and I beat him by about a car and a half because my rpms were low, his were higher because it was a 6 speed. 3rd race I beat him by 4 cars again rolling from 1st. Yes, we were on an empty highway. All I have is an AEM CAI, dc header, and greddy exhaust. His car is stock. The moral of the story, the new Si's are severely over-rated.

i now own a bone stock o6 si and had a supercharged prelude and i have already
beaten 2 preludes so i will say your freind dosent know how to drive or your story is over exagerated
Maybe off the line is a different story, but from a roll I started pulling on him in first. Don't really know how good of a driver he is, but how hard is it to stomp the gas and shift? I could see driving skill coming into play if we raced from a stop, but not from a roll. I also have no need to exagerate and make up stories because, as I said, my car isn't very fast and I never race anyone. I definately thought I was going to lose.

I've gotta agree with this too. I also own a bone stock 06 si and also had a supercharged prelude and although I haven't raced any preludes yet in the Si, I think your friend just can't drive his Si. The Si weighs less than the 5th gen prelude and dynos more hp to the wheels (170ish vs. 160ish) and has an LSD. If the prelude was held up to SAE standards, I doubt its HP rating would have stayed at 200 hp.
The only car I've raced in the Si was an RSX type S (my cousin's), the 02 model. I beat him by a car and a half. Neither car would have beaten my old supercharged prelude though.

this is turning into the who's faster on paper thing again. time for me to step out, i think...i still remember the crap i got for telling it how it is with my 00 lude and the then-local rsx - s's
I'm just happy I have LSD.. I'm WAITING to run into an Si.. I challenged in a local parking lot last week and he wouldnt race me.. Some guy with an intake.. he rolls up revving his engine at me and my friends... And says all he has is an intake.. He doesnt wanna race.. My car is bone stock I said.. and it's HEAVY.. Or not..

You are trippin man'. I OWN an 06Si AND a 330 WHP boosted Lude. I have run both my friends with Ludes and all their mods (on BAP) and beat them both. I have run an RSX-S and won as well.
He wasnt a good driver at all if he lost to your lude. I love driving it and it drives much better than our ludes. The LSD feels great and the VTEC kicks harder than my lude did (before FI).
Yes, I know its a Civic ... and thats why I know it sucks for us luders out there to admit, but ... honda got it right this time. The produced a 6spd, LSD with as much power as our ludes for thousands less than our ludes originally cost.
I still like driving my 330WHP lude but with a stock Si I am 2 for 2 killing modded ludes.
Absolutelude is correct.
Edit: Just so you know ... at current SAE standards the Prelude would have LESS hp than the Si. It would be around 194-196
I'm sure a stock prelude cant handle one.. But I am sure mine could.. I wish that one Si with an intake had of been up for the challenge... One day I will get the chance..

I usually don't venture over here much, as I don't care much about straight line racing, but I'm curious even with the LSD, suspension, and the improved power, how have they fared on an autocross or roadcourse? The only time I've seen the Si in an autocross, the times he ran were unimpressive, but it's likely due more to his inexperience (ie: I was 7+ seconds faster, which is an eternity). I'd love to do a comparo...drive a stock Prelude SH vs. a stock Si on either an autocross or roadcourse, and see which one finishes faster.
