A while ago, I raced a Honda Civic Si. He told me that he just Intake. All I had was Intake as well. So we raced and he beat me by a foot. I thought preludes were fast...?
Hmmmm..... You might get better reception if you post this in the street racing forum(where it kinda belongs) You might delete this thread and start one there. You could save the mods the trouble.
Preludes are fast but we are not the fastest thing on the road by a long stretch, especially with all the new cars coming out.
We do have more HP and TQ compared to Si's but they are also lighter than our cars. 4th gen VTEC's have better gearing so it is more likely a drivers race. Plus you never know if he had anything else under the hood, but I don't know why anyone would lie about that.
You have to admit our cars are great, but the technology in the newer cars is far superior compared to ours.

any cars potential will only take you so far.. a driver plays a very important role also. i'm not saying your a bad driver but i have yet to be beat by a civic si

Me too. I rape those thing's with my H23. Try again or somthing bro. What year was the Civic Si?
It was a 97-00 Honda Civic Si. Yeah, I see what you guys mean. Maybe I should just try and race him again. Could have just been me. Also, is it good to double clutch? Someone told me that I could go faster by double clutching. Is that true?
sorry
thats just a fable created be "the fast and the furious"
double clutching is only needed in old cars and trucks when you shift out of gear and then try to go to next and the tranny wont allow you to pickup next gear. IN our cars it hurts us since you spend 8sec in each gear and losing RPMs and time car is actually accelerating.
OH wow "F&F" was made an impact on street racing.LOL
i agree. my buddy has a civic si and we allways race. its all driver. the car has less hp and tq but is lighter. its all about the launch and the way you shift.

LOL, my friend was in the car while I raced this guy (his name is David by the way). David was like, "Dude, if you would have double clutched, you would have beaten him!" I was like, "I don't want to double clutch, it might hurt my car." So I didn't do it.
thats odd espspcially seeing as your a 4th gen vtec...you should pull him badly...i dont even waste my time with civic Sis...although i did find a JRSC one who thought he was the **** till i ripped him a new one...his best time is still 14.6...you should have no trouble whatsoever beating him
ive never lost to an 97-00 civic si with my h23, the best ive seen them run is about 15.6 at the track. I think hes either spraying or your just not a very good driver.
