I live in Windsor, Ontario. Just about every other household here, has a Mustang GT. There are more new model Mustang GT's on the road then minivans (and that's saying a lot because we have a dodge minivan plant here). In comparison a Honda is rare here, and a Prelude even more rare. All these domestic guys wanna race the lude. I'll bet the majority of the people in this city don't even know what the prelude is when they see it. My car is new (2001 Honda Prelude SE). I'm hoping to start doing mods in the spring. I need your help in getting the lude up to par with all the domestics in this city. I don't necessarily want it to kill everything, just to be competitive. Basically so the driver is the difference in who wins, not the car. I was going to start with I/H/E but will that be enough? How fast is a mustang gt, like 5.5 0-60 and 14.1 in the quarter mile? Any suggestions guys? Keep in mind Nitrous is illegal in Ontario.
Well I dunno bout that - considering VeeTec had 4th Gen that was all motor and just barely got him into the 13's. I think you'd be hard pressed to do it for less money than FI (which actually is what I was trying to say but never did).

I'd say go with a JRSC. It'll get you high 13's with FWD, so you bet you'd have a good chance against even a new modded GT, possibly even a Cobra (from a roll).
People haven't had as much luck with turbo kits for the Lude. JRSC is your best bet.

Hahah I know what you mean!
I live in Richmond, which is Prelude city. Ludes aren't rare here.
Hey Rashid, what's up man? Just get your CAI amd cat-back exhaust first and then we'll talk about getting a JRSC or turbo, gotta free up your car's breathing. email me if you got any questions man, you know who I am!!! I feel your pain buddy. Oh ya, interest in going to St. Thomas or Grand Bend for bracket racing in the spring?
Peace

Yes, boost will make you faster than me, for less money. But I will be happy getting into 13's all motor. All motor will last longer too. I just dont wanna drive around feeling like it's just box of air under my hood. But whatever floats ur boat.
h7y,
If your happy and always going to be happy getting smoked by every domestic V8 f-body, more power to you. But don't knock boost because you don't have the skills to handle a car with some real power.
I was down in Windsor, a week ago, and I don't think I seen a single prelude the whole weekend unlike Kitchener. Prelude's everywhere.
I raced a stock 01 Mustang and a modded '88 Cobra, both friends of mine, both good drivers. I always lose by 2-3 cars, but once in a while it will be a very close race (I get better a launch) and I end up losing by .5 -1 car lengths.
The majority of it is in your launch, if you get out infront first and launch perfect it will be close.

Yeah, I agree with the launch being important. I've raced a 5.0 Mustang and beat it cause I launched better. Also, my friend's S2000 beats Mustangs and Cameros all the time, because he is a good driver.

When I had my Prelude, I looked into Turbos for the H22. There were only 2 kits available. Fmax and Drag Gen 2. Neither was propelling anyone's car into the 13's. In fact, I didn't know anyone in the 13's with a turbo Prelude, be it custom or otherwise.
But then the JRSC came out people were busting into the 13's left and right.
That was just my experience. I'd love to see some turbo Ludes in the 13's.
Hell, turbo GSR's run low 13's...
The H22 can produce turbo power though. Steph Papa is proving it.
