Me vs. 96 Mustang GT

Well I raced my friend's GT today, it's been 600 miles since the clutch went in, so we went from a roll. We did the first race from when I was at 2000 RPM in first gear, and he destroyed me with his jump, but I pulled with 3rd gear. Second race, we took it from 4000 RPM on my tach, and we stayed dead even, until 3rd gear, where I started walking him VERY slowly. I figure if we started at 4500, or 5000, i would've been further ahead.

Both rolls were 1st gear, he has an intake, exhaust and an H-Pipe, but I'm not sure if that's the same as an exhaust on his car . Around 1200 miles, we'll go from a stop, but I'm not really expecting to win that one, nor lose by a lot.

I've raced my friends 95 Mustang GT 5.0. From a start its really damn hard to beat, probably because of the huge torque(285 lb/ft). I have come as close as about 2 car lengths. By 3rd gear I start pulling up on him. I'm going to race him from a roll at 25mph which should be around my vtec point. Results should be better. His car weighs about 3300lbs,haha iron block & head.

If i remember right, the H Pipe usually replaces the cats. So its like a test pipe for us.

best thing to do is go from a 1st gear roll and run till your end of 4th gear, and you'll have 2 cars on him at least. Ive raced 1 mustang 5.0L with a few mods and he raped me in the low gears, however we went from a 70km/hr roll and I had him by 2 cars by 150 km/hr

I raced my buddies '95 5.0 gt once (automatic). It has flowmasters and that's it. At the time my '92 Si was bone stock. We went from about a 20 mph roll, and we were DEAD even all the way to about 4th gear, then he VERY slowly crept to about a 1/4 car length into 5th gear. Very good race for my h23. Now that I have exhaust and CAI, I wonder if I could maybe pull on him a little.

In my first Prelude, I raced a 96 GT, and he stayed up until 3rd Gear, thats when I started to pull away. I guess those cars have Govenors or something, cause I looked down and we were going about 110-115mph..Oh well, sucks for him
