me vs 5th gen

hey, so im coming out of the movie theater and i get to a stop sign and here comes a like 94 mr2 and a red 5th gen. so we all pull out to the highway and the mr2 just starts cruising so im following him, and i pass the 5th gen and me and this mr2 are going like 90 down middle of the highway when i see the 5th start coming up. well... im not as interested with the mr2 as i am with the 5th. so i backoff the mr2 and the 5th gen flies by me so i floor it to catch up. we line up and i have 3people in my car (each roughly 180+) and then he has him (160 and his gal like 120) and i drop it. i think he is vtec but i never got a good look at his car but i know he had AEM cai cuz he had stickers plus i heard it. newho... we line up adn i drop into 3rd cuz we are going like 75 and we both go... he slowly starts pulling away from me) now im pretty sketched cuz i know even if it is vtec the 4th is the fastest stock for stock) neway.. we line up again and same result. i really wanna know what hes got cuz i think its the same one my friend raced in his 93 si but we didnt do too bad.) newho... sorry for the long post... basically we went up to 120 and he was slowly starting to pull away. ok, well thoughts, comments, or nething... overall fun but i would like to find out what this guy has.. it was in sterling va... thanks peace
nate

First of all all 5th gens have vtec. Going that fast a 5th gen will probably win stock for stock plus you had more weight anyway in your car. It wouldnt surprise me if all he had was CAI.

i dont know why you think 5th gen are slower than your 4th gen.
ive beat two modded 4th gens with just aem and msd only

its not like they are going to just walk all over the 5th gen

are you kidding. a 4th gen vtec will pull 5th gen anyday and plus hes a 4th gen vtec with more mods saying the 5th only had intake. ive never had a 5th come within 2 carlengths of me. you still shoulda beat him even with your more weight if all he had was intake.

Uhhh, you have a swapped engine. Why would a stock or lightly modded 5th Gen keep up with you? Race a 5th gen with a swapped Type S engine and full bolt-ons and see who wins.

I pray for the ignorant 4th gen drivers who thing they can just run all over a 5th gen in a race..especially after 80 mph.

Why would a 4th gen be faster? Show me the specs that will prove it and I'll stop arguing. The fact is all honda's are different from the factory, some 5th gens dyno more than others with same mods, same with 4th gens. 4th gens aren't faster than 5th's, and 5th's aren't fast than 4th's.

on paper I would think it's faster. IIRC 4th gen vtecs have diff gear ratio for better acceleration from stop and they are lighter in weight. 5th gen gear ratios give a better top speed. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah lewis haha, i hope a 5th gen wouldn't come close to you. You saw my jdm vs usdm video thats with an extra 200lbs in my car too!! hes talking about a usdm 4th gen in which case us motor vs us motor i've done well against them, its just driving skill, gas tank weight to make up for the slight weight different lol

Like they said, 4th gens haev better gearing for the 1/4. But on the highway the 5th has slightly longer gearing which allows us to stay in our power band longer, i've raced a few 4th gens on the highway and only lost to one so far (x01vtec on here)

if you are in US, you'd have a 2.2L VTEC for 5th gen

ok... well i didnt mean to start fights or nething. and i completly forgot bout the longer gearing of the 5th gen being better in the long run. oh.. and i also had just filled up on gas... so that never helps. newho... im not some ignorant 4th genner who thinks they can walk all over someone its just my friend had raced him in his si with me in it and almost empty tank and we didnt lose that bad. but in my race he wasnt really moving too much... it was like he was pulling away as fast as if someone were to have been going only 2mph faster... if that helps get a picture there you go. i think me vs him solo i would have won especially since we shut down at like 120. anywho... no more fighting... your all like a bunch of married people. i say good day to you.
