I was cruising up and down the streets a couple nights ago looking for a race....and i realized that this black crown victoria was doing the same...it looked like a former cop car because the parts that would usually be white on a cop car were poorly painted on this car...anyways...we pulled up at the light...he was alone...i had my friend in the car...n we're both about 140 lbs....i could hear him revving on me....so i revved up to 3500 and took off at green....he jumped ahead of me from the start...and i stayed with him until third...i shifted too late and the rev limiter kicked in....i dont know if i would have won if i shifted...but he never actually pulled on me....should i be embarrassed about this....the guy was a dick too....at the next light....he peeled out and made a right....blowing a giant cloud of burnt rubber my way and launched a few rocks at my car.....
I raced a Crown Vic once--with a cop in it. LOL! We were at a light and he took off like they always do since it's not their gas...anyway I nailed it through 2nd and passed him till I cut off right at 60 which was the speed limit. He looked over at me for a long time and then sped away.

I doubt it. I didn't squeal the tires or anything they typically use as evidence of "reckless." The only thing he could have done is pull me over and inspect my car for illegal mods. I just like to f!ck with them sometimes.

Oh yeah, I took off quickly in 1st, but I don't think I hit VTEC. He passed me after I shifted to second at maybe 25 mph so then I floored it all the way through VTEC to redline and 60 mph. He looked at me for a long time when he caught up, but just sped away after that.

Originally posted by Padge you could still get reckless i think
Racing is a comparasin of speed between two vehicles so to pull you over for that he would have to say he was racing too... But, there is some "unessesary display of power" or something along those lines. I think that' Neg 3rd if anything.
yea you can still get pulled over for "display of power" or "rapid acceleration" even if u never broke speed limit. (I totally almost type paridinstead of rapid I'm so dyslexic sometimes..)

In maryland he could have pulled you over. Its still considered a "speed contest" whether its 2 cars or 1 car against the clock (which is where he could have pulled oyu over around here)
