Just rode in a RX7 that tells me we shouldn't even VTEC our cars
This thing was a 93 RX-7 with PF intercooler, programmable ecu, intake, exhaust, turbo timer and was @ 10psi when I was playing with it.
70-110 he had an EASY 3-4 cars
so then I went for a ride in it, first @ 10psi... real fast
15psi.... WOW
17psi... who has clean underwear?
it was THRUST my head into the seat
wow these cars suck for reliability
and to top it off he compliments my slow honda for just getting "walked" by him @ 10psi 70-110, pfft whatever, our cars suck at this straight line thing
Ever heard one of these things w/ no muffler bolted on? L O U D.

Anybody want to buy my Lude? (Will sell in either stock or fairly modded trim).
an S2k has nothing on an FD RX-7 in my opinion, especially the 93 R1....they pull in the very high .98s stock on the skidpad, and also the rx7 looks way better...but everyone has their own opinion..peace
Those RX7s are not only fast on straight aways, they're also good auto x cars. They have a 50/50 weight distribution and come with LSD right out of the factory. I've driven an 88 Turbo II RX7 with simple mods toping out 10 psi in second and third, and the car ran high 13s for sure. I raced a moded 5th gen and took him by atleast 6 cars. As far as an S2K running high 13s stock that's just BS. I've never seen a S2K run lower then 14.3 stock, and he was moded. The part that sucks is that the Turbo II now isn't running cause of a blown motor. So far for forced induction on rotaries.

What was done to the Turbo II to pull a 5g by 6 carlengths? Aftermarket turbo? Did he raise the boost or what? What's the stock boost level for those RX-7's?

The stock boost level on those Turbo II is like 6psi. He had down pipe, mid pipe, exhaust, intake, HKS fuel computer, and other stuff I can't think of right now. We raced from a dead stop and it was no contest. I launched it at 7k, and the thing pulled like a bad mother f.... I also raced a Firehawk in it and only lost like by a car and a half.

I've seen one hit 13.9's at the strip recently, and there's been a lot of them that've hit 14.0's, 14.1's, but I've never seen one hit 13.8's or better, although I'm sure it's possible.

Well, I was just speaking from what I had witnessed. I've seen about a dozen different S2Ks run and still not a 13 second one yet...... Not hating on Hondas so don't misunderstand me. That's still quick as hell though for a 2.0L!

Hell no! RX7s are way better looking then a WRX any day of the week! But be prepared to have some extra $gs laying around cause when that motor goes caboooom you're going to need to by a new one.
