This weekend I got a chance to try the JRSC out. The first was against a 4th Gen. Vtec. He had at least an Intake and Exhaust. I was behind him and we both cleared traffic in 2nd gear around 35 mph. He got around first and jumped on it. I was right behind him and went to the next lane over and then hit the gas. I had already past him by a couple car lengths by 60. I stayed on it until 80 and let off. I was ahead by 10+ car lengths. I'm not sure if he let off after I passed him or not. At the next light he just gave me a nod. The 2nd race was against a 2001 Blue 5th Gen. He had an intake and that was probably it. I was cruising about 82mph. He jumped into my lane and hit the hazards. When we got around the car he hit the gas. I got over into the next lane and dropped into 4th gear. I passed him and pulled out 5 car lengths by the end of 4th and just let off. I probably could have gone to 3rd but I had been driving for 3 hrs on the the highway so I didn't want to add any more stress than I already did.
Cliff notes: Beat a modified 4th gen Vtec from a 2nd gear run and beat a basically stock 5th gen on the highway from a 4th gear run.

depends on what RPMs he's sittin at, if he's already pretty high it wont, cuz I'm sure jerking the shifter into 3rd and droppin' the clutch can't be that healthy at all (as most people do when they're in the heat of the moment)

Superchargers dont spool, do they?
it doesn't matter if they spool or not. The fact is turbo only spools when motor has load/stress. I was giving you that example to show you, 5th gear puts more load/stress than any other gear.(5sp) Sorry for the confusion

I think my arguement is that the engine deals with more load in say 2nd gear @ 2500 rpm than it does at 5th gear @ 5800rpm
when u hit the gas pedal
I put it in 4th gear because I didn't want to bang the rev limiter in 3rd. I wasn't worried about load on the engine so much as bending valves. I'm not exactly sure of shift points in this car with my new found power so I thought I would play it safe.
1PreLude2NV I just take them as they come. I'm definitely looking for the big boys but I haven't found any yet. Plus it was nice to see how much my car has gained from the supercharger vs. the modified 4th Gen vtec. I figure that my car N/A and that car would have been a good race.
