I raced my buddy with a Type-S the other night 3 times. I beat him 2 times out of the 3 races from a dead stop. In the one race i lost, I missed 3rd. (He is a good driver)
Has anyone else raced a type-s?
What was the fastest car you beat with your H22???
Also, does anyone elses Prelude backfire every now and then?
93 Prelude JDM H22
JDM H22 Tranny
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch
8lb Fidanza Flywheel
NGK IR Spark Plugs
Napa Gold Series Wires
Apexi N1 Catback
Cold Air Intake
04 RSX Type-S
AEM CAI
Bosch Platinum IR Spark Plugs
My friend had an '06 RSX-S that I did a couple of highway pulls against and from 60mph to about 110, I had him by around 4 cars? Then I raced an RSX-S with I/H/E and ECU reflash and I was about 3 cars behind from around the same speed. Those K series are nutts once they're modded.

I killed a RSX-S with my SS and a 75 shot, It was pretty freakin sweet because he jumped me from the light but when 2nd gear shifted I turned on the spray and got a good look at his dropped jaw on the way by him like he was parked. When we got to the next light I purged and laughed.

I had an SS (now converted) and yes you had to spray to kill anything with an SS even stock 5 speeds would walk all over me, going to a Prelude meet was crazy tring to keep up with everyone. It was about as fast as a stock G35 with a 75 shot on the SS, I race one once and it was pretty much at neck and neck up till about 100 then he left me. Soooo...the 5 speed swap is where its at, that's been the best money spent on the car.
Oh night and day, it's like its a whole different car. A Honda Tech at my local dealer, the guy who use to do all my work on my car had an SS as well, he opted for the Level 10 Transmission set up for his with the high stall converter and the whole sha-bang and with a 75 shot he managed a 13.1 in the quarter. however putting 3g's in a transmission was kinda a far streach for me. However I did go thru 3 SS transmissions before swaping out mine for a 5 speed. The gears seem really short for the car I can't imagine what a different final drive would do, It would be rediculious. At the time of doing my swap I was eye-balling an Mfactory final drive to toss in my 5 speed being as when I bought it I had to rebuild it anyway. I'm glad I didn't because intersate driving would probably have me doing 60 at 4k. But yeah it's totally worth the money for the swap. I haven't raced an RSX since the swap but I don't think it'd be a problem to keep up or edge out an RSX-S.

Dang that's crazy going to three trannys. I am still on my first one...its the JDM H22 tranny. 5-speed > SS !
