I thought Maxima SE 6spd will be faster than this...

Finally. After 3 years of waiting.. I met my dream with my prelude.

It looked exactly like this one.

It was in gold color. SE badge in the back. Totally stock from what I can tell.
It was manual.

So I was cruising with my buddy(turbo ITR). Out of nowhere, this gold maxima
cut in between us(3-lane, 45mph street @ 3am, no cars around).

Then the maxima gets next to my bud's ITR, and started provoking him.
They race twice from a roll, both times ITR came up top. ITR didn't even raise
the boost, left it at 5psi.

------- My race -------

After the quick race with the ITR, maxima wanted to race more.
He signaled us to follow him, so we did. We get to a open stretch road.

I get next to him this time, and I see young asian/hispanic looking driver
with a passenger. I was alone in my car and 30pds of extra weight(nitrous).

I hear him downshifting, so I did. Im in 2nd, around 5200rpm, right above
vtec range(4900rpm). We both floor it, I put 1/2car(he was on my door) on him,
I shift to 3rd. I pull another 1 1/2car on him, and I can clearly see him
in the rear view mirror.

We did that few times, and everytime I get into high-rpm range, I pull on him
pretty good. Though I can tell, when Im below the vtec crossover, he pulls.
At last, this guy decided to floor it first. I drop it to 3rd. Until my redline reached
7500rpm, he pulled 1 1/2car on me and stopped pulling there.
I shift to 4th. I looked at the speedo, and was reaching 115mph.
At that point, I gained back the 1 1/2car, and pulled another 1 1/2car on him.

We cut off, and went on different road right after the race(spot is known to be hot).

It felt soooooo good. Its been more than a year since I raced like that crazy.
I really wanted to race a maxima and I did.

I didn't even use my nitrous btw. I have i/h/e/testpipe/vafc2 tuned.
Previously made 180whp/142wtq, ran 14.8 @ 93 mph w/ 18s. I now have 16in rims.

Chances are, its the 222hp 6-spd one. Supposed to run high 14s @ 92~93mph.

I've owned the 02 3.5L and currently own a 05 3.5L....trust me the one you raced was not a 3.5L. It had to be a 00-01 3.0 SE. Still a good win, but I'd say you and the ITR wouldn't hold up against a 02+ Maxima with mild mods.

I wouldn't have chance. buddy's ITR turbo shouldn't have too much problem..
unless those maximas w/ mild mods are hitting low 13s.
