all he had was an exhaust. i know it was just a civic, but we don't get much races here and it's been a while, just wanted to share my excitment.
so anyway, i was actually trying to race a ducati monster for ****z and giggle but he wouldn't bite, so the civic overtook him and we raced at the next light.
wasn't even a contest, i even let him take off first. after 0-60 he was way back there. we slowed down and he gave me props, i gave a nod back. so it wuz all cool...
yeah i had a civic up my ass yesterday then he got next to me and looked over and tried to take off..... i just laughed and and kept cruising at the speed limit
oooh trust me i don't. a few friends of mine have turbo'ed and built up civics, fast as all hell. but this one in particular, just had an exhaust. even with intake/header/exhaust it would have still lost. turbo on the other hand, would have been interesting.
my kills so far in the prelude are:
-gti vr6
-240sx
-gsr
-300zx
-2nd gen eclipse
-3000gt
do the new eclipses come with a 4 cylinder version? a few months ago i was driving my girls 00 jetta vr6 5spd (chipped, cai, exhaust) with her sitting next to me, and this new eclipse with body kit, rims, lowered, exhaust and who knows wut else started to mess wit us...he presisted for a long time to speed up then slow down to line up then speed up, then slow down, etc.
i decided to have fun and give it a shot so i rev...we line up going like 40 or so then he takes off while i am double clutching to down shift (i know its slow but it save the motor)..he was a good 1-1 1/2 cars ahead at the start and i jus zoomed by him like he was standing still...
i know he was going cuz i saw his shift light come on several times as he was shifting...
my girl says it was probably 4 cyl and he wanted to race me cuz she took off the "VR6" so people think shes driving the slower jetta
yea the 4 cyl versions are very slow, as you probably found out.. and the v6's arent anything that quick anyways, mid 15's or so usually.. but good job putting him in his place!

On the contrary they are fairly quick. Factory times for a 2003 Eclipse GTS V6 210hp, 205ft/lbs of torque, are: 6.7sec (0-60) and 15.2sec (1/4 mile)
Compared to a 5th gen Prelude: 6.6sec (0-60) and 15.4sec (1/4 mile)
This is pretty dam close stats. Don't underestimate an eclipse gts. Plus it responds differently to mods. Put an XIRacing or Rippsmod header on there, it'll give a dyno proven +23whp. You won't know what hit u. Show me a header for the prelude with that kind of gains. Don't get me wrong I still love my prelude but a gts is a force to be reckoned with also, and if properly modded, watch out.

yea that is pretty good.. but I am still disappointed they parted from the 4g63...
Hey Garn how do u like ur sv650? do they still have an S version? u gonna put full fairings on it. i used to have a katana... u seen the new honda rr's? hot man.
Oh I love the SV, plenty of power at just about every rpm, and no worrying about what gear your in, even in 6th gear you give it gas and you go.. doesnt pull quite as hard as 600 ss's though, but will hang with em till around 80-100 mph hehe.. It's really flickable to, and goes where you need to without so much as thinking..
They do still make an S version, I just chose the naked b/c thats what I was goin for.. was initially gonna get a ducati montser but this seemed to be a better performing AND cheaper bike(compared to the 620 and 750 that is), so I couldnt pass up..
Yea, but I really like the new Honda 599! looks great.. My next bike(in about 3 years) will be a Triumph Speed Triple(drool!!!)
hey i checked out ur cardomain page, nice mods on the sv650. i got the same suspension setup: kyb agx, neuspeed strut, neuspeed sports (very similar to h&r's), and some energy suspension bushings. you're gonna love the change in handling. it makes a significant difference when u combine all those components together.

I meant to ask you.. how do you like the energy suspension bushings? I dont know if I wanna go through the pain and time to do it lol.. Is it really needed on a street car? I do plan on doing ES motor mount inserts however..

i like them alot. supposedly they last a lot longer. performance wise i'm sure they helped but i can't really tell because i installed everything in one shot. i did the shock bushings, bump stops, and spring coil isolators. each component was around 10-15 bux so i said what the hell, might as well put them in. i found out that those parts needed replacing anyway, so it was a good idea to go ahead and do it.
it's a much firmer ride and the shock knock i had is gone. potholes and rough road is a bit tough on comfort but it's worth it on those corners. they'd def help on ur motor mounts where they're prob most needed.
