How fast are Volvo S70s?

I was on my way to work yesterday and some old black guy kept pacing me and looking over. We were doing about 60mph and I just hit it in 5th gear to get away from him because I was getting scared. I thought he was going to rob me or something. Anyways, I got up to about 70 and he was still next to me when I noticed he punched it so I threw it in 3rd gear. He got about half a car jump on me but I pulled back and passed him. By the end of 3rd gear I had about 2-3 cars on him and shifted into 4th, let off around 110 and had a good 5-6 cars on him.

After I slowed down, he pulled up next to me, looked over with a big smile on his face and gave me a thumbs up. Anyone know how fast these things are? I've raced some young kid in a Volvo S40 before that was modded. I saw an aftermarket exhaust, boost gauge and a BOV. Same result with the S40 as the S70 that I raced yesterday.

depends on which s70 it is. there's the base s70 wiht 168HP, and the s70 GLT with the light pressure turbo with 190hp. Then there's the T-5 model with 236hp I believe.
the t-5 models should be pretty close if not faster as they're pretty quick...especially in the stick model.

it doesn't matter with the T5 whether it was auto or manual, they both perform VERY similarly.. my mom has the auto.. only one that doesn't perform similarly is the R...
my mom's 2001 has 247hp..

I don't know what model this was but it didn't look like a base model. Might have been the T5 model because if it was the Base or even GLT model with 190HP, I would've smoked it even worst than I did.

Paul's car looks a little on the slow side. I don't know if I'd want his car representing all 5th Gen Preludes against a Volvo.

Thats why I asked, because I didn't belive you were racing people with that thing? I assumed the sig pic, was a joke.

No, I don't wanna race, not with my prelude anyway. To slow.
