Good Race With RSX Type S

Accidentally went west out of habbit instead of east (where my new house is) on I-40 and found myself next to a nice blue RSX Type S with the Aspec lip/tall spoiler kit. The car actually was very sexy and it had an HKS Hi-power exhaust. That was the only mod I am aware of... Anyways we went from an 80mph to about 110mph roll and I have to say i was VERY surprised by the results! I pulled about 6 inches, it was a 4th gear pull where I went WOT at about 4800 rpm. Other than the 6 inches it was dead even. My car is a 2001 Prelude 5 speed base with an AEM intake, gutted trunk, NGK Blue Wires, NGK Iridium IX's, and password JDM magnetic drain. Thats it! And yes i am absolutely certain he was racing. So for anyone who is curious as to the magazine rated 6.7sec to 60 for the Type S in 2004 and the 6.7sec to 60 rated for the 1997 Lude SH the Lude takes it by a hair. Maybe this is because i have a 2001 with a healthy low mile H22a4? Anyone else have any experience with RSX's?

just hit 98,000. Timing belt/water pump and all that goodness was done at 93,000. And like i said earlier I just did a tune up with NGK iridiums and wires and I have an intake. Not to mention my ITR shift knob and boot that give me a ton of hp

you must be pushing an easy 25O+ whp

I heard rsx-s smoke us? but idk, i guess it ultimately is up to the driver's skills.

Yeah its driver skills but also I believe the RSX is a little quicker from a dead stop or a dig but lacks slightly at the very top where the 5th gen Prelude excells somewhat. And in my race like I said was from an 80mph roll, it was a 4th gear pull. Not really a skilled vitory but a victory none the less.

in that race it's all in the driver. In my race we both sucked but he got still got me. I did 16.16 @ 90mph, and RSX-S did 16.04 @ 93mph.

Everybody needs to realize that at my elevation here in new mexico we are more than a mile high. My lude in its form now (different from when I first created this thread) could run a 15 flat easy at sea level. With VERY little work I know I could touch on the high 14s

I've actually raced an rsx type s all the way from denver to boulder colorado just messin around the whole way (like a thirty minute drive). We prolly never went below sixty and we only did third through fifth gear pulls. We were basically dead even the whole time besides when we would have to weave traffic and stuff.
I know for a fact that they would take us from the line but at the high rpms/gears we hold up well
