Going to race Base 08 Lancer Automatic in 97 SS prelude. Expections??

So tonight my buddy with a stock 08 lancer base, automatic was talking **** on the prelude, so I called him out on it. Sure enough he backed down, but wanted to do a couple highway pulls.

My lude isn't fast or anything and I don't claim it to be. It has an intake and that is it, but for my taste, it is a decently quick (stress used when I say that).

What can I expect? I'm not a track driver or hardcore auto x'er but I can hold my own at high speeds. Since my car is automatic ( 5 speed swap far away)
when I raced people, I usually just made it go through vtec to redline before shifting. Suggestions with the SS tranny?

09 specs: 152hp@6000 and 146lbft@4250 w/ a curb weight of 2999.

SS Lude specs: 190hp@7500 and 152lbft@4250 (I know it's close to those numbers) and a curb weight of about 3100.

On the highway you'll have no problem. From a stop, I don't know; I've never raced a CVT, so I dunno.

I forgot to mention my car has a jdm h22a4 in it, with about 39k on the motor and 20k on the current set up in the car if that counts for anything.

I'd say you'll win by a small margin. A greater margin if you had a 5spd and could launch well.

CVT's are fun. You just mash on them and the tranny will keep you in the optimal revs (i.e near the top of the curve)

I took a Nissan Sentra CVT (rental) out for a fun joyride one night and didn't know it was a cvt until it started to do that. Weirdest feeling ever.
