Frankenstein Prelude vs. Supercharged Miata

So last night I got bored and decided to head out on the highway and do some street tuning on my new wideband. I get a good overall tune and pull of the Buford exit, and head down 20. I pass by a certain friend of mine w/ a white supercharged Miata. I turn around and follow him, and pull into a parking lot. We chat for a minute or two, then he says he's headin out, but to follow him if I wanna have a little fun......so I follow. He just got his charger put on a few weeks back, and I finished my Frankenstein motor a little while ago and just got a decent tune on it, so I was wanting to see where we each stood.

I follow him out, and after a few redlights, we get to a good, safe straight. We are both sitting in second gear, which put me around 3.5k IIRC. He gives the three-honk, and we floor it. We sit side by side, and I start winding out second gear. I hear him shift to third, but he stays right where he was. I reach the end of second and shift to third, and he pulls about a bumper, but then slides back even with me. I wind out third, and he MAY have started to inch up again, and maybe not, but at the end of third gear we let off b/c any faster would have been too fast for that road.

Here's both of our setups, as far as I know:

Me:
92 Prelude w/ H23 VTEC
H23 tranny
No exhaust
No intake (TB suckin air off the head/block)
Header, but has a downpipe that's crushed in half
VAFC, almost tuned

Him:
??? year Miata, I think 94 w/ the pop-up headlights
1.8 liter DOHC motor
Jackson Racing supercharger w/ upgraded pulley, IIRC it's 9psi
Big FMIC, but it causes a boost-drop
Intake, exhaust, maybe header?

I'm impressed with his car, as well as mine so far. That Miata def. has some torque now!

Yeah, he's a cool guy.

We usually hang out at the Park and Ride in Buford on the weekends, stop by if you get a chance.
