Frankenstein Prelude vs. 5.0 Mustang

Well last night I'm sittin up at a local hangout and I see a guy I know that had sold his Jeep Cherokee for a ~90ish 5.0 Mustang. I get to talkin to him and ask him what he had done. He said he had 3.73 gears, underdrive pulleys, and a K&N filter. I didn't check under his hood, but he at least had gutted the cats too, b/c the stock-looking exhaust was louder than normal.

We decide we should run, so we head out to a safe spot. I gear down to second gear, sitting right above 5k and give him the three honk. On the third honk, we both floor it, but I jump about a car and have his front bumper at my rear wheel. Second ends fast and I shift to third, just to see him start to inch up on me. I wind through third and shift into fourth and start running through that gear while he continues to pull. By almost the top of 4th gear, he had started to nose his bumper ahead of me. I let off instead of going to fifth, and head back to the hangout.

My setup is listed in the "Frankenstein Prelude vs Supercharged Miata" thread.

I eat supercharged mustangs for breakfast, LOL. on a serious note, I managed to beat a suepercharged mustang 5.0 twice. I was getting him by about a car but by the begining of 4th he would inch up little by little but we had to stop due to the road. The main reason I was getting him was because he was having some traction issues but I wasn't too impressed by the SC mustang.

Well I found out tonight that the kid actually had a bored out throttle body, Cobra intake (?), Mack headers and H pipe, Flowmaster cans, and he was told the motor had been rebuilt w/ forged internals when he bought it.

I feel better
