Finally got to try out an SRT-10 Ram on the street!

Some friends and I were leaving a local strip club last night when I noticed a red SRT-10 prowling around the parking lot. So, being completely sober, I pulled along side him and gave the obligatory, 'nice truck.' So what did he respond with? heheh.... "Man, I'll seriously smoooooke that Lightning."

that's exactly what I was hoping for...

So I follow him out to the interstate where we trade 135+ passes for a few minutes before we get off onto Shadeland north for some stoplight action. I wondered a couple things after I put a couple car lengths on him from a dig. First being, "I wonder if he is upset that a nearly stock (4# lower w/ predator tune) Lightning just picked him off w/o ever being pushed to wot. Second, I wonder if he regrets paying nearly 50 grand on a supposed 500/500 lead sled. hmmm......

So yeah, I don't race much on the street, but SRT-10's are supposed to be the baddest trucks around. Having the oppertunity to prove otherwise felt pretty good.

*note*
It was kindof risky to push the truck hard w/ the outside temp being a bit below 55F. There are several stories around NLOC.net about guys destroying their modded L's in cold weather. The most I ever pushed was maybe 3/4 throttle........anything more and it started pinging a bit.

^My truck is always dirty, there are no visible mods or gauges.... He took the bait like a chump.

Don't get me wrong, they are nice trucks (as are ALL new Rams), but totally NOT worth the money.

^Honestly, I don't really know. But, most guys w/ similar mods usually put down between 390-400hp and 480-490tq. Kinda funny how badly I smoked him off the line, since Dodge claims a 120hp and 50tq advantage over my truck. He's even got a driveline-loss advantage w/ the 6sp over my auto. Not sure of the final drive in the SRT, though. That may be where the Dodge loses out.

.........and a year after my last post in this thread!

Everybody I know that's ever driven an SRT-10 Ram says that they just don't move like you'd expect.

Not that it matters anymore, heh....

Last SRT-10 truck I saw rolled thinking it was a car. Wasn't pretty they sold the engine/tranny and scrapped the rest.
