Finally got my own SS

Well brothers it finally happened tonight. I was on my way to the store when I pulled up to a light next to the car already there. The road narrows to one lane but I figured I would blow by the one car at green. Low and behold it was a Camaro SS. I didnt know if he was gonna go, but I switched into high boost just in case. I didnt rev or anything, and neither did he...but as we pulled away from the light I heard him winding it up! I jumped on it, and I was expecting him to start pulling away but he was right next to me. Into second we are still side by side, but I start pulling a nose ahead. I missed 2-3, but got it in quick and thats when the car really starts pulling. Put him on my back bumper and he let off. The guy must have been pretty pissed cause he rode my ass the rest of the way to the store. Imagine my little 2.2 beating a big bad 5.7, life is good.

I got the F-Max kit with thicker head gasket to reduce compression. I am sending the car in for a bottom end re-build and block re-sleeving shortly. It should give me a significant jump in power/psi of boost. I think the F-max kit costs ~4k, I cant remember the exact price, but in my honest opinion you MAY be better getting a custom built kit from your speed shop with an AIC depending on how wild you want to go.

NEWAYS

My experience with a SS was bad...vewy vewy bad. I was up at Northwest Highway for the Friday Night races and I was wizzing down one of the streets and accidentally pass a Camaro SS. He speeds up to me and starts revvin. I'm like....ok...so we gun it, he let me go first, and soon, all I saw were taillights. Then a truck cut him off...harhar.

High boost was 10psi. I say was because my car just went in for bottom end re-build. Wish me luck guys but I am hoping to come out pushing 16-17 psi, and a lot better tuning!! Beating the SS was pretty sweet for me. A year or so ago, I got SPANKED by a young punk in an SS (he actually had time to wave bye-bye to me!!), gave me the motivation to go turbo, so it was nice to know it paid off!!
