just wondering how this race would go. with my mods listed below, i don't think it would get that hard of a race. also what about a turbo talon? there is this dude that has one and thinks it would be a close race. i'm pretty sure my trusty v-tec would kick in and probably get them, i'm just not to sure...

mahle gold 10.1 pistons
eagle rods
preparing for a little boost.
Sorry, but you'd get absolutely raped by the Dodge Neon. You should be able to take/hang with the turbo talon though, depending on if he has any mods done to it or not. But yeah, the Neon would absolutely kill you. I know I'm not looking forward to racing any of those...
ahhh crap, that is depressing news.....guess i'll have to P&P soon or get some NO2. there is no way i'll let a dodge neon spank me!
only mods on the talon as far as i know are intake and exhaust and turbo of course.

I highly doubt P&P even gives you much gains. Maybe what, 1-2 whp? Not worth it unless you have a ported IM, larger TB, and more aggressive cams. And the nitrous isn't gonna save you either... unless you have like a giant 150 shot or something... but I don't think your motor is reinforced to support that... a 65 shop isn't gonna cut it with that car... Face it, trying to take out that Neon in our 5th gens is a lost cause...
*sigh* then i better start saving my pennies for the IM, TB and P&P. i kinda wanna keep it NA, but if i just turboed my car then i should have to much trouble.

i personally think neons are crap, and without that turbo, that's all it is, one giant steaming pile of turboed poo....oh well

they will always just be like the ugly kid who sat in the corner, that nobody talked to. Just that now, kid started to work out and got buff. Still, it's ugly and nobody talks to em.
anyway, i'm sure it handles like crap, like all domastic cars under $34k.
i would take my lude over those ugly commercial hp fuglies anyday.
buying that car's like buying a yugo on streoids, anyway.

Ahahahaha...the day a geo whoops my ass...I'm selling my prelude right away. That is gonna be a sad sad day...and now that I have typed this...it's probably gonna happen.

Some new neon SRT-4 beat one of my friend in his WRX stock by a couple of car lengths. I wouldn't even bother in our ludes, we'll get destroyed and by one ugly fast car.

Actually, it handles really good. Probably comparable to our ludes. Sport Compact Car Magazine did a comparison on it for the top 10 new cars under $20,000. It ran a 6 cone-700 ft Slalom at 69.0 mph, second in the test only to the Mazdaspeed Protege. Lateral grip was 4th place out of 10 in the test, at 0.85. The new Honda Civic placed last at 0.83.
In fact, it actually won SSC Magazine's comparison for best new car under $20,000. No wonder either: qtr Mile: 14.2 @ 99.5 mph
Don't mess with this car unless you're boosted or on the giggly gas

Its comments like this that make me feel like getting an open minded discussion on these boards is almost impossible. Yes, an SRT is very quick, they almost get the same times as a new mustang GT stock. Also, before you guys get into your rant about how a 4 cylinder is making just as much HP as a V-8, you also must keep in mind that a forced induction motor has a HIGHER, that right, HIGHER displacement than just the block. I dont know what the exact equation is, but you also must add the boost of the turbo, SC, nitrous to the actual DISPLACEMENT of the engine. So, that little 2+ liter engine with a turbo has the same (if not greater) displacement than my 4.6L. Just something to keep in mind. I guess thats why 2.2 liter n/a VTEC preludes loose consistantly to 2.0L WRXs HMMMMMM......(actually, it could be the AWD too)

Well...that neon DOES haev 2.4L to it...not 2.0 like the WRX. So if we compared displacement Vegitalv12, we are still getting beat by .2L + displacement. And ranting about a 4 cylinder that comes out of the box and runs Mustang GT times is something to rant about. Same ranting for Saleen drivers that run 12s.

The new Dodge Neon SRT-4 ain't sh*t without it's Mitsubishi engine. Dodge doesn't deserve the credit for the Dodge Neon SRT-4. The credit goes to Mitsubishi. Just think the new Neon as a Mitsubishi and you won't feel that bad losing to another Import.

That's a very valid point.

So should I still feel bad about losing to a car that is cheaper than mine and runs low 14s still? Plus the fact, that when a dsm rolls up to me, I never wanna do anything, cause there is quite a likely chance he will hand me my ass in his 92 gsx...sigh.....
