Came Across a VW R32

Met him on the highway a few days ago. I was doing the speed limit (surprise), and he went past me about 10-15 over. I switched into his lane and speed up to catch him. As I got to a safe following distance, he got on it. I'm pretty sure he down shifted (I think the R32s are 6-speeds), and I kept in in 5th...and so the pursuit started at 90mph. I cought him about 120mph, and as I passed the engine switched to the high cam. It was over, but we both stayed in it until I was indicating 140mph.

Beatiful looking car, and I'm sure he'd have me from a dig (AWD vs. FWD). I'd like to see one of those on track or AutoXing.

I think youd be surprised to find they dont launch much better than the Lude...Haldex AWD doesnt kick in the rear wheels until it senses slippage on the front....its not as great as it sounds. I went up against one at an HPDE about 3 months ago, and they dont handle that well, and put down average power...they weigh like 3500lbs so their power to weight ratio isnt that great....the torque is all they really have.
