Camaro SS

I pull up to a camaro ss at a light and we are both turning left. It was the generation right before the 98 and up style. He looked and sounded stock except for an aftermarket hood. Anyway we take the turn normally and then he guns it at about 35mph. I already had my nitrous armed so I go WOT and he pulls about a car until i hit vtec and then we basically stay at the same interval up to about 80mph when we have to slow down due to traffic ahead. I looked over at him and he didnt even look over. I think he was a little pissed that he couldnt pull much on a honda. BTW in case your wonderin i got I/E/NX 50 shot. I just wish I could have raced him from a stop or a 45mph roll. It think it would have been dead even...

I don't know about beating them off the line. A stock SS should run high 13's and with a 50 shot I'm thinking you're hitting close to low 14's to mid 14's. Maybe with a 75 shot you could beat him, but I am almost sure the SS would pull sooner or later with only a 50 shot. Anyways, nice run hanging with the v8!

I thought the ss's were pretty much untouchable, without some crazy mods. I mean I have a 70 shot, with a jdm, and I don't think I could touch one of those things. I give them alot of respect.

Well it wasnt exactly a kill cause I didnt beat him. I dont know for sure but I think that the last generation ss had less hp than the most recent one. Anyway the NX kit is also rated at the wheels and usually dynos 10-15whp more than the actual shot you are using. I have also raced the most recent gen SS and he beat me by a lot more than this one...

I still want to race one though, and I know what you mean about the shots, my 70 shot only gives me around 42 to the wheels. I might switch to a different kit.

OMG ...

Would a NOS 50 shot (wet) give more than that? or does the nx kit just kick @ss and can get formidable gains?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was an ss cause I've raced a couple z28s now with my N2O and I have beaten them pretty badly from a roll. This guy didnt have aftermarket wheels either.

I didn't think there was that big of a diff. between Lt1 Z's and lt1 SS's. You say you walk Z28s, but you're dead even with SS's? Hmm, that's weird.

I dont really know that much about camaro #s other than the newest generation, but yeah I have raced two z28s and beat em by about 1 1/2 cars. I also raced the new gen ss couple weeks ago and it walked me pretty bad though(about 1 1/2 -2 cars...

Lt1s=285 bhp
1/4= 14.0(ish, depending on the condition of the car)
Ls1s (new gen.)=325 bhp (Z28 AND the SS)
1/4= mid to low 13s, depending on driver.
