Basic Modded ITR vs Turbo Prelude

Ok i usually never post like this but this topic on clubsi.com really just bothered me... I dont have all the details but the bottom line was a race between a low boost 5th gen prelude w/2people and a basic modded ITR w/4people... 2 races
0-?mph itr won by a car
roll-?mph prelude won by half a car..

WTF i know itr are light and fast but damn beating a turbo prelude.. even low boost 6-8psi i would like to hope that one could stomp on a itr...

It would definitely stomp a ITR. Basically...you are at least getting 60-80 whp from a turbo at at really low boost. No head, intake, exhaust, pulley, cam gear combo can do that, even on the mighty Type R. Unless the prelude guy had serious traction problems, I can't see this happening.

That's pretty awful. I was just about to post a new thread about a race between me, a ITR and a '92 Talon TSi. I beat the ITR by at least 5-6 car lenths by 80. They both jumped me hard off the line but the race was pretty well over by the time I got half way through second, went into third and pulled to about 85.

The smoothloodey guy says he's got 200whp. He definatly isn't running too well and also has a problem making power above 5500 RPM's, which I assuming is the onset of VTEC.

I think he's on this board too. Maybe he'll chime in.

After going to the honda-tech site and reading what the ITR guy posted and all the responses, why do they think that the ITR is like the God of cars??!!! Can someone answer that?? Don't get me wrong, they are fast, but I really think people make them out to be better than what they are!!! I can't wait to race one!! And heck, if I can't beat them with my car then I will let my girlfriend stomp them with her car!!

Because it is basically the fastest front wheel drive car sports car out right now. Not only can it go mid to high 14 sec. 1/4 stock, they also handle like a dream. I picked my Prelude over a Type R, but I never deny, Type Rs are faster. If I had a ITR, and I knew it was a limited production sports car, I would brag around about it all the time too...but I have a Prelude, so I just brag about that all the time.

i don't like the people on honda-tech, they sound too cocky about the ITR, yes it is faster than the lude but they make it sound like it was an unbeatable FWD car. Some guy also said that at hondaprelude.com the fastest 5th gen. turbo lude in the timeslips section ran a 14.49 at palmdale, i don't think he checked right.

I was never fond of the ITR, still looks like an integra

Nissan 350Z starting at 26k dollars would just roast the hell outta ITR with 280 hp and 260 torque 6 speed. I want one For that turbo lude to get beat by a midly modded ITR, his tuning must suck ass and he doesnt know how to drive
