It's more a drivers race but you probably won't win.

It depends on alot of things, mainly we don't know what you have and what he has.

^the prelude would barely edge out in that instance. You would get beat if it was a GT.

Why don't you just race and find out??

I don't know why people have these street racing questions when you can readily go out and do illegal street racing.

I can see if it was a story or something but asking about bench racing is a little useless.

If you want to beat him, get some nos. With the power of both cars, small little mods won't matter in a street race.

Do you have a 1992 Prelude S or Si? I used to have a stock (just headers) 1992 Prelude Si auto and I used to race my friend with a stick non-GS-R Integra. I beat him every single time by like a half to one full car length. The automatic transmission on that 4th gen was quite nice! If my friend had a GS-R, there is no way I would've won. I have seen stock 1992 Si's run 15.6s. Stock GS-Rs run about a 15.3, and stock non-GS-Rs run about a 16. As for the '08 Eclipse GS, it has 38 less horsepower than a '99 Prelude and the Eclipse probably (I don't know for sure) weighs slightly more. In my opinion, the Prelude would beat the Eclipse by quite a bit. As for the '08 Eclipse GT, there is no way in hell that the Prelude would win since the Mitsubishi has 63 more horsepower. I would still rather have the Prelude though.

Oh yeah, and I agree with what Petern said, small little bolt-ons are not going to make much of a difference at all, especially on a stock engine. Unless you have engine work and/or some type of forced air induction, those small mods are primarily for looks/sound.

I would love to go out and race instead of just bench racing, but my buddy just got the Eclipse, and he's going to a different school than me 2 1/2 hours away and I can't get down there lately. I just wanted to double check with what you guys thought because I've been talking crap about his car for a week now. I looked up all the specs and whatnot and was fairly sure I could get him

Because street racing is unsafe, illegal and against the law while bench racing is perfectly legal, not against the law and safe! Stop being a behind and help these nice people out, Peter!
