5th Gen vs WRX

So I raced a WRX today from about a 30 punch...and those things just aren't as fast as I thought. He was in front of me and in the next lane over to the left. All I have done to my 2001 base is a Weapon R Intake and that thing just wasn't pulling on me at all up to about 90mph (at which point we had to slow down.) I stayed just to the rear right of his car the whole time. I even shifted early (out of nervousness) to third and didn't hit vtec for a bit and he still wasn't pulling on me. I tried to race again but he turned off. He looked and sounded stock but for some reason I had this impression that these things were wicked fast. I've never seen them running at our track up here so I don't know what kind of times they get but I was disappointed. It actually made me happy to know that I went with a lude instead of the WRX. Then again, it could have just been a crappy driver although he would have to have been really bad to be worse than me.

Nope, they aren't fast from a roll. We can stay even with them with no problem. They have a good 1/4 time because they get such a good jump from a stop.

Yea, stock they arent that fast, but my friend just added a downpipe and intake and he kept up with me opposed to when i would take him from 1 to 2 car lengths. My other friend has intake downpipe up pipe, exhaust, MBC running i think on 18psi, he rapes a bunch of cars off downshifts. Remember now that wrx's dont shine off down shifts.
