Well tonight i tested my luck with a stang...i think it was 95-98 gt....We were gonna go from a 40 punch....but we happen to catch the light...Light turns green and we take off normal till the tach hit 4k..i heard him punch it so i punched it...2nd gear shift i pulled a lil...Caught 3rd and shut it down around 80mph with his headlight at the back of my door...He pulled over asked me what i had..told him all i had was an intake..and i saw his eyes get real big...all he had was flowmaster exhausts..
haha nice kill. mustang drivers always think they are sooo fast because they look fast, especially especially those owning newer mustangs. but
its funny when they get beat
down with ford!!

Unless your FI or NA built out the ass, I wouldn't try a new Mustang... I enjoy my Prelude, but I also have a 2000 5sp Mustang GT with a MAC catback, B & M Ripper shifter, and a Hypertech chip, and it'll run a 13.7 on stock tires.
Just because some Mustang owners can't drive, doesn't mean they're slow...

Mustangs are kinda slow. They run high 13's to mid 14's stock... Thats very slow for a v8. I think they need to replace the 4.6 with a larger engine(5.0,5.2,5.7) Something that can hang with the F-bodys.
The only "F-body" that will even think about touching a new (99+) GT is a LS-1, which is 98 or newer.... Oh, and a new Z-28 only runs 13.7's to 13.9's...
'99+ Mustang GT

Try 12.9s -13.5s for the 6-speed LS1 Z28s, SSs, Trans Ams, Firehawks, etc.. while the 99+ Mustang GT is much improved over the 96-98 generation, they still make less hp at the crank then we do at the rear wheels. The GTs 4.6 is rated at 260 hp, I dyno 300 to my rear wheels (and I have an automatic) also run a 13.4-13.5 @ 104 mph at the track. Most Mustang GTs only pull off a 14.3-14.4 at best with the 5-speed. As for the 96-98 4.6s, they only had 225 hp at the crank, barely having 200 at the rear wheels... the automatics ran low 15s while the manuals could pull off a high 14. I dont need to hear about what a 4.6 can do, I used to own one... great (reliable and durable)motors, just not for raw power racing (leave that to the 302 5.0) Btw, the only "Mustang" that will even think about touching an F-body is a new Cobra... you know, the Mustangs that need a factory supercharged 4.6 to keep up with a naturally aspirated LS1 Keep these Mustang guys in your rear views

Piss on troll rustangs.. They can't match up with LS-1 so they troll our boards to validate their lack of testicular fortitude. I'm sure that most of them don't understand what that means. Ah well.

Mustang GT's are made to compete with the Z28's and Trans Ams, not the WS6 or SS. Put that in perspective and the time are closer than you state. Crappy drivers in GT's (5-speed) pull 14+ times but the majority are 13.7-13.9's stock. I have also seen crappy drivers pulling 14+ in 98+ f-body's so its a matter of who is behind the wheel, not the car. 96-98 GT's are slugs from the factory, but if they did the 99+ headswap then that becomes a different story.

The 99+ Cobras was a pretty good match up for the WS6 and SS, which also made it a driver's race. Now, the Cobra puts out more power than the f-body's which would mean that it should consistently run the f-body's if it has a competent driver.
When racing, it comes down more to how well the driver can control you car rather than who has the most HP or who has the biggest engine.
Unfortunately, I have seen V8's (Mustangs & F-body's) go down to ludes, WRX's, Civics, etc, which just proves that you cant be a crappy driver with a powerful car and expect to win races.

YOU guys cant match up with an LS-1 either. Testicular fortitude means "sack". most of these GT's you guys have killed are probably terrible drivers, but they are kills never the less. it proves that you guys are better drivers in these cases, not that your cars are faster. drivers being the same, a "lude" wont stay close to a 99+GT.

but 98 and earlier ones always end up a car length behind my completely stock prelude, and i usually take them off the line, too. v8 mustangs are more in league with a rs camaro or v6 firebird
How many of you Mustang guys are on this board now? You've been posting all day. The fact is, it's hard to take you very seriously when a lot of your almighty Mustangs have a whole 25hp more than our "little 4 bangers". They're nice cars, and I like domestics, but honestly your superiority complex is ridiculous unless you have a 99+, in which case your car is faster than most Preludes on this board. Good for you. Doesn't take 10 of you to tell us this. I'm not trying to rip on Mustangs, and I know some of you have productive things to say, but I don't think there needs to be 10 posts in each Mustang-related thread trying to get us to see the beauty of your 225 horsepower.
